Great video! I'd like to learn my RR Mojo (7 months) to pull me as a runner (it's a K9 sport called 'canicross') Your explanations are excellent and make a lot of sense. I have a belt with a long elastic (bungee) leach and Mojo wears a harness with a middle and two side attachment rings. Those side rings will be attached to ropes to learn him the turns after I train him between my legs (he already walks through my legs naturally). We are already working on the STOP (with succes). So I am quite excited to try this Thank you so much!
Question: how old is Rosie? And do you think Mojo is old enough to start learning this?

Thank you for the compliments and feedback. It’s great to know these videos are encouraging people to more spend time with their dogs. I’m excited for you and mojo. Mojo is going to love pulling.Everything I’ve read says to have larger dogs wait until around 1 to pull loads because their hips are still forming (your vet would have a better answer) . I waited until 1 to be safe.
The side hooks sound like a great idea for practicing gee and haw. If you use the side hooks on a harness for pulling be careful that the leashes don’t rub into their hind legs. The leash will have more weight on it than when running. It could cause irritation on the legs as the leash compresses with weight.
      I love dog adventures.

@@dantasticdoingstuff6025 Yes, thanks for the warning about their joints. I heard that from the breeder too. Even if the parents have been screened for H&SD it's best to keep them lean, away from stairs, jumping in/out of cars etc. Frankly when Mojo is off leash and I see him fly up and down the occasional steep slope I wonder if it can be a 100% prevented. The vet was telling us to keep the walks ridiculously short too; no way to keep him settled in the house at 4-5 months on 10 minutes walks. Right now his walks are for 95% less than twice an hour a day, hope that keeps him out of harm. Also for the moment I'll concentrate on learning him not to pull on the leash during walks and runs.
Those side ropes will be small and lightweight and will come off as soon a he knows the turn commands.
Have loads of fun with your dogs !
