Hi there! I am really considering getting the 125 Mongrel or Fat Sabbath and then going onto driving a lightweight cruiser, do you think this is a good idea for a starter bike going onto a light cruiser?
I think the Mutt Motorcycles are one of the best starter bikes available. Personally I would choose the 250 straight away. I think you'd outgrow the 125 too fast.
I'm thinking to get this bike (not a learner but want something easy, chill and cheapish) I've heard tho that the Mutt has very bad battery problem and oil leaks, anyone here has had these bikes for a while?
G'day mate, I'm near 50, and looking to buy a fun town bike. Problem is I'm about 6'2" tall and about 125kg, would the Mutt be too small for me? Your thoughts.
G'day Grant. One of the Owners of Mutt Aus is 6 2 and he commutes daily on one. The 2020 versions are also slightly taller than the previous model. Regarding weight, if it's only for around town I think it will be perfect. If you're planning highway trips it will do the speed limit easy. Go down and take one for a ride. Are you in Sydney?
@@ThrottleDownunder I live in a small town called Chillagoe, about 3 hrs drive west of Cairns. The Mutt I feel would be perfect for blasting about town and would be able to handle the dirt/gravel roads also. They sure do look like a fun bike to ride and such a cool looking little beast.

As a newby myself who loves the look of the classics, I'm tossing up between something like this or an interceptor, which by the time they're both on the road is only a couple of grand difference. In your opinion, would a newby be better off going for something like a mutt, or growing into the interceptor?

These bikes might work just fine but you should be careful with this misinformation... The same bikes go under different brand names: Sol Invictus and the now defunct Braaap. Do yourself a favour and buy Japanese - cheaper, safer and much better supported by their dealership network.
I do love how people make judgements on these bikes being so called unreliable and rust buckets. Tell me, in your infinite wisdom, what experience do you have of ownership of one of these bikes? I made the mistake of buying a second hand Yamaha YBR125 with 11,000 miles on the clock (with full history) after getting my CBT, I hated the thing. It looked weedy and way too small for me, I always felt a little embarrassed pulling into petrol stations on that skinny piece of shit. Anyway, after 700 miles of ownership, the thing just decided to die on me (local bike tech said there was little to no compression and therefore suspected piston and rings) So I sold it as a non runner and got a fairly decent price on it to be fair but that was not what I needed as a learner, so no, not all Japanese bikes are amazingly reliable! Anyway, I went out a week later and bought a Mutt Mongrel 125 and it’s a great little bike for me to learn my craft on. It fits me well, sounds fantastic and always gets lots of positive attention from people. Most of these bikes will be bought new by learners like me, who will be taking their full A licence shortly after and then will trade them in or sell them privately (good money selling private too) to move on to bigger bikes.
@@JP-yc1wp My wisdom is far from infinite but I do exercise a modicum of judgement before I part with my cash.
