I am playing a similar version but emerald instead of amethyst. I like to see that you minimize the use of cards that lose you tempo like mims. I play way fewer vanilla locations since they will make you lose at some point in the swiss when loosing the dice, and are weak against ruby and amethyst. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah there’s always a trade off for the color you decide to build with. I played amber steel locations before and it had really great aggro but basically needed doc as the only method for card draw. Amethyst gets access to the good 1 drops and more card draw, but its good locations like library and castle are really expensive. I do like the potential of emerald/steel location deck, that does sound fun.
I think you could probably cut the bounce cards if needed but they do give some versatility in this deck. I like the 1-cost purple cards because they replace themselves. I thought about putting Happy for the mine but I think the card draw is huge. Definitely still viable with happy and hook but sounds similar to the Amber Steel Mine list.
I think both could be good, it depends what you’re more comfortable playing. Whatever deck you can pilot better is always a better choice for a tournament in my opinion.
I haven’t played that match up very much to give an indepth analysis but in the games I did play it’s competitive. It’s important to fight for board before setting up locations using cards like Smee and Calhoun and Pete. Smash and Fire the Cannons is also good. If you can get a John Silver on the board and powered up it can be hard for them to remove.
Thanks for the video - I'm a big fan of location-based aggro so watched with interest
@@fishbulbnation I’m glad you enjoyed it
Could you post an analysis guide and more game play?

@@techkeepup7207 I will post it on my blog at the end of the championships. Good luck!
I’m taking it to set champs tomorrow 🤞
@@collinmasters680 good luck!
How did it do?
@ I went 2-3 but realized I needed to prioritize card draw way more! I got stalled out twice top decking
what do you think about a deck with more locations, without the bounce package. and the 1 cost purple cards. instead the captain hook 1c and happy
I don't know if I should play locations or hyper aggro for the championships
