@101fanofTwilight This is Voice Dance III. My school is singing it for our Spring concert and even though our choir teacher changed the ending of it some, I know this song by heart. I can tell you it is defiantly Voice Dance III that they are singing.
I was in this choir as a bass, trust me it's Voice Dance 3. I'm pretty dang sure that this song wasn't taken too fast. Dr. Brian Bentley wouldn't make that kind of mistake. He's been teaching choir for 23 years, I think he knows what he's doing. Miss you Dr. B
@ZoneTenGirl. Just in case you didn't realize, this song does take us 3 minutes. Look at the time on the video :) You have to understand that this song is meant to be sung African style. When was the last time you heard Africans singing a joyful song slowly? Second, I want you to record your middle school choir singing this and then tell me that you sound amazing. Everyone sounds great in their own head. I'M NOT SAYING THAT WE SOUNDED INCREDIBLE!!!! Cause we're not. We had improvements to make.
@POPWEE13 Yeah they are going too fast. Not even my choir class is singing this song that fast. We do sing it a little fast but not to the point its like "Come on guys, we need to finish singing this song in under 2 minutes." The choir I'm in at school takes us a good 3 or 4 minutes to sing this. We sing this at a speed that fits the song, and we do sound pretty amazing. The funny thing is though that my choir is a middle school choir and not a high school choir.
@skeggoms Sounds great! I'm looking at the music score now and your tempo is only barely faster (about 122 instead of the 112 suggested) which is not really an issue or noticable at all and totaly up to the director's decision. I think it makes the second half of the song sound even more intense so probably a better choice to be a bit fast than slow. And yes I am definitely procrastinating learning the song and just watching other choirs sing it on youtube :)
LOL girls on the "Da dee ya da" part. OH MAN, dummies. "let's totally back off on that, and see what happens!" I can say this because I was a total screwup with this song...
heh not bad. gotta right a report on you guys for our choir teacher
nice work :D
