Window Screen Ground Plane Test

Here is my interpretation of using metal window screen as a ground plane.
Wow i was impressed!
Despite poor band conditions it seemed to work almost just as well as the long radials and is much quicker to set up.
I will be testing it more in the near future when the bands are better and i have more time to expirement.
Just wanted to share with yall my expirence with it.
I do recommend you try this! I got a roll of window screen at lowes for about $8.00.

Our testing suggests a 2 s unit improvement in antenna performance, but this is preliminary data more testing is needed

Is your testing of 2 s units improvement compared to NO radials or that compared to using 3 or 4 lengths of counterpoise wire?

I am getting mine tomorrow! That’s the reason why I’m getting mine too much to fool with my wire radials ! Brother I run POTA also I’m getting 53 and 52’s yep the bands have been lousy no worries thanks for posting!

Fantastic! Im sure it will work well for you too. The suns activity has been crazy lately. Not good for 20 but has been great for 10 & 6m!

What SWR did you get, and what do you get when using radials in a comparable configuration? (The constant and too loud "background" music, by the way, is awful.)

I would think that 3 or 4 wire counterpoise would be better than the screen, but the screen is better than nothing.
