      PLEEEASE... here is WHY there is ONLY 1 King of RnR... the Beatles had 52 Top 40 songs...52, and that is an incredible amount of hits, think about it... BUT, now understand this, that number isn't even HALF of ELVIS' 114 TOP 40 HITS, w 40 of those in TOP 10!! ELVIS IS KING of not just R-n-R, but King of Music...PERIOD!

    Elvis once said there was " room at the top for everyone". While that comment he made may have been true. The fact remains he stood alone on that peak. No other artist in the history of the music Industry was able to even come close to this man in talent, charisma, killer looks, humility, and generosity of spirit. When this man died the entire world wept, and the world still isn't over him. Elvis Aaron Presly was truly LOVED. That love for him has never stopped.

    Elvis could have been a great actor if he was given more credibility. Even in these B movies, he was good!

    • @janice5528
      @janice5528 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Some were not considered B movies at the time only later, some of them were top grossing movies at the time and some became top musicals but after a few years the critics became harsh and bashed the movies and Elvis was tired of doing same type of things and same story lines... He wanted less musical comedies and guy gets girl story lines and not be type cast he wanted more deep or fulfilling acting rolls... He wanted more like James Dean or Montgomery Clift or Tony Curtis rolls and he could have done them so well, like he did in King Creole...But at the time you have to look at what movies were being made and budgeted for... From Here to Eternity and others were big budget movies ... Unfortunately Parker put him in a box and a routine... Then Directors and producers made offers but Parker turned down many of them thinking he'd lose his control...

    Elvis Presley changed everything. it wasn't just a revolution in music. Elvis changed the social and cultural norms, of society. Elvis's impact on the 20th century was a major force for so many changes. Nobody deserves the title "King of Rock and Roll" more.
    Elvis Aaron Presley was a man who made a difference in this world, and the world still misses him to this day. Strange in so many ways that ,.... because it's as if we lost a member of our own family,....that's how much he was loved and still is.

    Elvis touched everyone who was alive, in the soul! Which is why he is the King. He was genuinely nice, caring, talented and good looking. He was the whole package. He wasn't Vegas Elvis in his final years. He toured himself to death because he loved it and had people to pay. He never wanted to do a bad concert, he didn't want to let his fans down. He has and is still selling more records after his death. The corenol worked him to death and stole a lot of money. He was treated racist by his own kind. He will remain the King and a LEGEND

    I would've loved this film at his death to have included the comments made by the Commander-in-Chief, Jimmy Carter: Elvis Presley's death deprives our country of a part of itself. He was unique and irreplaceable. More than twenty years ago he burst upon the scene with an impact that was unprecedented and will probably never be equaled.
    His music and his personality, fusing the styles of White country and Black rhythm and blues, permanently changed the face of American popular culture. His following was immense and he was a symbol to people the world over, of the vitality, rebelliousness and good humor of his country

    Jesse Garon was born first as a stillborn, then Elvis was born. You have it in the wrong order. If you check this out, you will find it says: On January 8, 1935, Elvis Aron (later spelled Aaron) Presley was born at his parents' two-room house in East Tupelo, Mississippi, about 35 minutes after his twin brother, Jesse Garon, who was stillborn. The next day, Jesse was buried in an unmarked grave in nearby Priceville Cemetery.

      Yes, but for many years throughout the seventies, the Jerry Hopkins quintessential biography on Elvis stated Elvis was born first- it wasn’t until much later the sequence of births were corrected..

    This is way before my time but I love learning about the 50s and 60s. I grew up on Elvis music thanks to my parents playing a variety of music in our home and just learning different things about Elvis as I got older is interesting. I feel sad tho because I've noticed just from watching past interviews, shows and his appearance when the addictions started to takeover his life.

    There are so many things which are worth learning about Elvis. He was a phoneme Al singer! Looks to kill, heart as big as Dallas, great entertainer and really worked at his trade. Wanted to be the best for his fans. Genuine human, kind and generous. Amazing how he was raised and had so much intuition as to music and musicians. Just the greatest and an All American. I am not so sure he is passed this life. He still may be alive. For sure that was him in that interview. Even his hands looked like him when talking. No on, but no one could have interviewed exactly like Elvis would have. He was 1000 percent believable. Judging from the presidents he knew so much about and most of them met, he’s still with us. Looking at those limousine videos as Elvis got out of one. Was easily identified. Looked older but cannot mistake the profile. Awesome!

    Elvis looks like he is about to shit in his pants. He was drug filled prior to this satellite special, and was told by the producer Marty Passeta to pull himself together and " you will have to lose weight ". He trimmed and 'delivered the goods' like he always does. I was most impressed by his interpretation of It's over, Something, (George Harrison's hit song) What now my love(a title of French singer Gilbert Bécaud RIP) and I'm so lonesome I could cry. These sad songs are not easy to interprete. But Elvis did them justice. Remastering titles such as Kuipo, Blue Hawaii and Hawaian Wedding song for live videos looked easy for the King. Rest assured they were not. In fact they necessitated quite a few takes. Elvis, the complete artist, impressed the whole world from satellite. Yes, I watched it live. And thoroughly enjoyed his extraordinary performance. Elvis, the true, complete professional. No one comes near. RIP ELVI 😎

    I was only 4; years old when he died but Elvis was still the definition of cool in my mind. The way he talked and looked and his early songs were just the benchmark of what a rock star should be. Later I got into Zeppelin and Queen and some of the more versatile rock bands, but I noticed that they all played Elvis songs onstage All the great bands can trace their roots back to Elvis
