The one monster being able to mimic player model is one of the great aspect of this game, always fun seeing streamers/players surprised to it lmao
its not as scary when you're playing it solo and it happens. unless they fixed it to where if you're playing solo it wont happen. like it happens and you see yourself over there running around and you're like "ok so thats a monster, got it" but if you're with 3 other people? its like the fuggin thing movie! you dunno who is who until the thing attacks! lol

I love the concept of Mimics, it could actually be so good mixed with Phasmophobia's voice recognition. Imagine having someone ingame say "Hey, where are you guys at?" then having the AI record it and use it against the others as bait.
The issue with that is that people would make their mimic voiceline be a dead giveaway, like the game says "say: hey, check this out" and the player would respond "I'm a mimic!"
@@Sceusell I think he means you wouldn't know which voiceline would be mimicked. It would just take a random voice line that you say in game.

All jokes aside, the very idea of a mimic is that they can imitate what you look and say, but considering they're innately not human they can only imitate what you had been saying, not necessarily filter the meaning of what you said and use it against you. They're only like a fleshy anthro randomized tape recorder that kills you upon contact.
I like how at 22:20 the mimic comes in looks at him and Smitty tries to look away like the mimic didn’t JUST turn and look at him lmaoo

Imagine a horror co-op game where the only way to actually win is to just not go in and leave instead.
Pffft, dont be silly, everyone knows whenever theres a spooky haunted house with a ghost that definitely, certainly, 100% *wont* kill you, you always go in! Even better if it's an old decrepit tomb of an ancient pharaoh that suddenly woke up and wants to murder you.
May aswell take samples from the outside or using drones
Not a horror game, but an old metroidvania called shadow complex had an alternate ending where near the beginning of the game you can just go back to your jeep and leave your girlfriend behind
well actually.. for the current halloween event if you want the mask all you do is grab the 4 pumpkins and just leave in the car lol you dont even have to finish the level to get credit for the pumpkins AND you dont get just one pumpkin per time you do that level, you can get all 4 at once which is nice.
and get a steam achievement with witty remark for that

You don't need time travel to discover Egyptian tombs, they still exist today.

if we invent time travel you can only travel to the time of creation and beyond so if you made it yesturday you can go to the day of creation but not before because it would not be a thing so how could you go somewhere where it doesnt exist

I don't really see how time travel makes sense anyway.
Excluding the problems of the time travel itself, how do you control *where* you time travel to? The Earth and the Sun aren't stationary, so you'd have to be able to pinpoint a location to go to. Let's say you solve that problem (which I assume you're implying because you need a machine in the time you're travelling to), *how* would you travel there? You didn't at all explain your theory on time travel, so I'll just assume you think that you go backwards in time using the time machine. Would it be equivalent to exiting the timeline and reinserting the time machine into where it was at the time of choice? Well, you'd have to find a way to find *where* it was again. So would you just rewind time rapidly? There's so many questions and problems to this. I think the most we can do is be able to send information via electromagnetic waves back in time. If we find a way to synthesize biological structures, then you could MAYBE send the information to reproduce a living thing, but that's just insane.

Holy shit the Mimic is actually one of the scariest and most intricate concepts that was ever executed in a game
The fact it uses people's in game voice to fool other players in the party, that's some Mandela Catalog type shit that I cannot get enough of

It's amazing to see that Mattercell got so immediately popular from his Smii7y animations that Smii7y himself had him do a whole animation for his streams. I also love when big creators find and appreciate fan content like that, it really does give me hope for them human race.

Imagine if the mimic was able to like record your voice and mimic your voice as well. This needs to happen in horror games. If I had the means to make a game, I'd totally create a mechanic like that.

The mimic is the perfect trollable aspect by just walking and not talking you can just scare the shit out of someone by walking up to them.
