Hello! Thank you so much for this information! I’ve been wanting to do this for two years and I finally bought some fragrance oils from Candle Science. So that lit something under me to now gradually get the rest of the things I need. Although I’ve been doing my research you’ve made it a lot easier to start. Thanks again so much! I will keep you updated on my progress! I’m in Ohio also! Closer to Youngstown,Akron,Cleveland! God bless🙏🏾
Yayy… Tiffany, I’m so glad you are ready to start now! I’m sure you could def. relate to the weather changing in Ohio during the fall. 😀. Let me know how things go! 💗
Hey Sherry, what's the curing time for this wax? Can I use 8% FO without additives? Thanks for this video because I thought I had found a wax IGI 6006 but boy is it hard to wick
The curing time can vary with each fragrance. Overall I would say at least a week and up to 2 weeks. Golden rule always says 2 weeks, but I’ve had amazing HT within 3 days for some fragrances. Manufacture suggests an additive when adding more than 6%. Let me know how things go. You might want to watch my video on the review of this wax and how to make a coconut soy candle. 👍🏼❤️
Hello Sherry! Thank you this was helpful, What wick would work well with that container using coconut apricot wax, I bought too much. will try coco soy next. thanks
Hi Martha, I certainly understand that...LOL. I've never used that wax on a consistent basis, but I would begin testing with CD wicks size 12, then move up to CD wick size 14 and see if you get a melt pool from edge to edge. HPSP wicks are also a good choice, may want to test with size 42, then 45 and up to 48. Let me know how that goes for you. The CD size 14 may actually work for you, since that is a coconut soy wax blended with apricot. Good Luck!
You can get a mailbox at any UPS store… and use their street address as your business address. Use the box number they give you and it can be stated as “Unit 1234’ along with the street address . Hope that helps
I've just started with candle making for about a month. When do you tell yourself hey now I'm ready to start this business? I have a business name, thanks to my wife. I have a couple fragrance oils already 2 weeks into being made.
Make those 2 candles and see if you can sell them… then add 2 more and keep going. Before you know it, you’ll be in business! Let me know how things go. Good Luck! 👍🏼😋
@wilcandles Thank you. Super nervous but I tell myself every day I'm going to do this. You and Black Tie Barn are my candle university professors. I've used regular soy wax, now I will try coconut soy.
I purchased the C6 wax from flaming candle , but in the Candle Science Wax guide it gives the option to choose C6 wax when trying to find the correct wick size for your jar
You are very welcome and thank you. Feel free to ask questions in the comments... perhaps others will find the question and answer provided helpful as well. Thanks again.
@@marywooden9528 Ok… I think a CD 8 would be too small to wick that jar, you might want to try a CD 12… and if you get a good melt pool within 2.5-3 hours on the first burn… go up one size. Let me know how it works out for you. FYI.. I will be posting a video about how to choose the right wick tomorrow … so PERFECT TIMING for You! 👍🏼❤️😊
@@wilcandles you’re the best! My first test with the CD 8 I got a full melt pool 2 hrs into burning. Your previous video made me question my wick size. I figured a 2hr melt pool was pretty good lol. But thank you!!
I was surprised with peoples request for Fall living in Cali and I'm not ready. You gave me some good advice. Thank you!
You are very welcome. Yes, Cali is a tad diff, but yet the same. 👍🏼❤️

Hi Sherry! Thank you for sharing this!! I’ve started selling candles at vendor events. What is your best storage for tips for vendor events?
My “Go To” is always stackable totes that have the flip open lids. 😊
Thank you! I will try those. ☺️

Do you think a CD 8 wick from Lonestar candle supply will work well with the 8oz amber straight jars? Similar to the one you have on this video.
