With Batman, I would meter burn his Straight Grapple to temporarily stun Brainiac and do a bit of combos. My best way to beat storymode/Arcade Brainiac is to be fast and interrupt him when he makes a special move. If you can do a move to stun or freeze him temporarily without him blocking, it's your perfect opportunity to combo or button mash him.
Is there no way to turn the fighting music off during the scenes? It's fine during the fights, but during the scenes, it's just distracting and annoying.

As someone who is really bad at doing combo’s, the last brainiac fight was really hard for me, he has so much health and does a lot of damage
