The Vikings have had Jefferson at a discount. His 4 year rookie deal plus the 5th year option was less than 35 million. 9 years 175 million breaks down to just under 19.5 million a year average. I'd say that's reasonable for what he's accomplishing.

Dont all teams use all their cap space every year? As far as I know, they do, and many have to do cap gymnastics every off-season to make room for any new players. That being the case, Detroit just tripled their ticket prices so if the Vikes can generate enough excitement, prices are gonna 📈 ... But owners will want the stadium full, I think. It looks better and you factor in drink and beer sales its not worth it to triple prices if 2/3rd of the stadium will be empty. Idk anything, they'll do whatever makes the most money by raising prices some amount that they can still attract a bunch of fans to shake the remainder of their money out of them for a budlight and a corndog. Go Vikes, I guess. Im from Tampa.

I know Travis Kelce said hes just happy to get new contract offers and signs the first one put in front of him. If all the Bengals playmakers want to milk the league for max money, some may have to go elsewhere. How did he earn it bro? I get it he has been good before last year ... But if they offered him 28 last year before season and then played as horribly hurt or unhurt (didn't look hirt to me looked tired and not interested) but horrible non the less basically no touchdowns or help at all during season... Why they pay him 35 .... After last year he wouldn't have got offered more than 20 and that is generous for the year he played.
And if the dolphins are stupid enough to make a deal with Tyreek then let him not honor it because he is bitt hirt then he needs cut ... If you can't honor the contract you signed for kore than one year then you don't deserve to play football in Florida or the NFL

I think Kirk Cousins made Justin Jefferson better than CD Lamb. Give CD a Kirk Cousins, then I would say they are statistically equivalent.
Normally I don’t defend the Cowboys, but I think Dak is just as good as Kirk in the regular season, even slightly better in playoff success. And Ceedee’s numbers are similar to JJ’s, so this is really a toss up in my opinion. I think both are good regardless of who the QB is

As I always remind my friends, The NFL and The NHL have Hard Salary Caps while The NBA and MLB have Soft Salary Caps, which means as long as you are willing to pay Luxury Tax you can spend above The Salary Cap.

This deal makes just as much sense if not better because they would've had to have paid a QB that money but seeing how they drafted McCarthy in the first round, with that fifth year option that will essentially cover the costs for both instead of paying a veteran QB a massive contract plus JJettas

They do have the benefit of not having to pay a QB for G least the next three years, but still, name the last Super Bowl team that paid their WR top dollar, Chiefs knew Tyreek Hill, one of the biggest gem changers in league history, was gonna want a big contract, and thand they traded him. After going to two Super Bowls, winning one. AJ Brown was a noticeably missing piece for Titans, and a noticeable asset for Eagles, but reality is Titans struggled because of injured/inexperienced offensive line. And Eagles success was because of a good (league allowed them to hold) offensive line. Gotta let your WR walk, and invest that money on the line of scrimmage

a top paid WR does not win you superbowls and hurts your ability to build a team through the cap. Luckily they have no one else to pay until his contract is up, but it will also hurt them trying to sign FA to help bring the team up quicker.

If that's the case, why would Miami offer him the bag when it's now Waddle's turn? If Tyreek changed his mind & wants to stay in the league longer, shouldn't that have been a convo to be had with your team's front office? The money is taxed based off the state you're playing in. Sure for half the games its a little higher, but when you play away you are taxed based off of the taxes of other states.

He’s historically the greatest wide receiver through their first 4 years. Nobody has more yards and he’s set the record for most yards through a players first 2, 3, 4 seasons. He’s historically the greatest wide receiver in NFL history in terms of YPG. Nobody averages more YPG in the history of the NFL than JJ. Started 9 games (only really played actual time in 8 of those games) last year and he still put up 1K+ yards.

What they should do is just let another team pay Ja'Marr & let Tee walk when they can. Bengals have a good history at drafting good WR's. Draft WRs & build up a great defense to compete vs the AFC North.
JJ is the cashcow at the wideout position. No matter what you pay him, as an organisation this investment is worth it regardless of how fans feel about paying a non QB that much.
