Dur Yodhana did not pre plan to imprison Sri Krishna. During the negotiations due to some arguments he ordered to capture Sri Krishna. And Clever Sakuni was not in the plot. He was against this.
As a matter of fact Dur Yodhana tried to welcome Sri Krishna to his house for staying and food. His pre plan was to make Sri Krishna happy. As usual Star Bharatham cooking stories.
Actually Duryodhana suggested to capture Krishna before Krishna's arrival in Hastinapuram court but everyone opposed. During negotiations he planned again after leaving in between. Saguni opposed but went ahead still. His invitation to stay was to bring Krishna to his side/capture him.
True. Duryodhanan is not evil as they portray here but too arrogant to arrest Krishna. sakuni would have never thought that they could capture Shri Krishna.
Yes he was evil if you think that english translation for Sanskrit words is correct. What they had mentioned in Mahabharatam was that he was the personification of Adharma, if you go by his words and actions. Actually evil is only a small part of adharma not the entire thing.
