i like the combination of candy & jan on this song. i think candy also is not a jazz musician. she is a lovely & sexy pop saxophonist.
that depends on once personal taste. i like hers too.. but obviously you dont really know many saxophone players.. did you ever listen to altosaxplayer kenny Garrett? (NOT Kenny G. )

You boricuajazzz8 or whatever you are and others making sarky comments about Candy Dulfer have obviously never played music professionally. The very best players make "mistakes" regularly - and will be the first to admit it. As a fellow musician (www.pulsejazz.com) I knew Roy Hargrove and he wrote this great tune as a crossover into smooth-jazz/ R&B. Candy would no doubt agree that Paquito and Kenny Garrett are superior straight ahead players; I may be also. But she, like most jazz players is NOT attempting to "outplay" them. Most mature jazz musicians are collaborative, mutually supportive and don't treat their art as a contact sport. She's attractive? So what?

She unfortunately forgot the repeat and had to fudge it at the beginning. Her soloing is just pentatonic licks over and over. His solo is much bettering. It uses proper language and has a great feel.
"Proper language" as determined by whom? You? I've heard David Sanborn, Dave Koz, Eric Marienthal, Boney James, and numerous others use pentatonics extensively in this style of music. Funny...don't think I've ever even heard (or heard of) you though.
Candy has the best sound out of all the sax players today.

Not bad, not bad at all. Took a few minutes to develop, but most good compositions do. I like the look of that old-school flugelhorn. Candy is underrated!

Don't get smooth jazz and the real "jass" mixed up...smooth jazz saxophonists come a dime a dozen... My God, the posts below equated Mr. Softie himself, Kenny G with Pacquito D'Rivera...blasphemy...Right now, killas like Joshua Redman and Marcus Strickland rule the roost. Say what you want though, Candy has been getting paid for decades. Far better versions on Candy and Jan doing Strasborg/St. Dennis on other sites. DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
