I really hope they bring Theo back! I can think of so many ways they could come together and I think some scenes from Eloise's book could still be integrated. Even though it would be a "harder" life, she would be herself and free to make her own way. It certainly would be better than fixing a man (Philip).
First, I wish to thank you for highlighting Angela Davis' work. Second, I completely agree with your comments on Philip Crane. Eloise's book is one of my least favorite from the series. Theo Sharp is just a better match for both Book and TV Eloise. Yes, it would be an adjustment for the Family Bridgerton with regards to an Eloise/Theo union, but they'd get over it when Lady Violet sees how happy her daughter is.
It’s petty, but I’m still so mad about how ugly her hairstyle is compared to other characters. That fringe … ugh. She deserves so much better on that front alone!
I’m not worried, when it’s her season she’s going to be stun. Eloise is already too interesting, they don’t want her pulling from every main romance every season, so they try to dim her shine with that wig.
@@MultiNadiam also valid !! it's like kate's wardrobe in s3. she's still vv gorgeous in those drab colors tho. love that pen got to really shine in her szn
Your description of Eloise being like Jo March is on point. But that being said, you have to look at the era, she is privileged to be from a wealthy, noble family so she can't marry someone like Theo, it's just not done. Also, you don't want her to end up like a real woman of her era, Jane Austen, and wind up alone and penniless. Because her mother loves her children, she will be able to choose a man that fits her personality, but she won't be supported if she marries beneath her. I know that sounds harsh, but you have to look at the reality of the era and not your mind set that has had more than 200 years of social advancement to make your opinions on.
Thinking back to the little Woman movie, there is a quote from Meg "I want a home and a family and I'm willing to work and struggle, but I want to do it with John." Although, yes, Eloise is more of a Jo, I think this quote could apply to her. I think Eloise would be willing to struggle and make a career as a writer/activist/philosopher for both the right person (Theo) and the freedom that being away from the Ton would afford her. Just cause she would move down in rank and have a harder life, in terms of labor, doesn't mean she wouldn't find it freeing to work for her money and take care of a home, especially if she could do it in partnership with Theo and have an equal marriage. I really like Theo and Eloise together and I think, especially since Bridgerton isn't historically accurate, they should be endgame!
I disagree. None of the other sibling would have the balls to skip town and show up on a man's doorstep unnanouncef. Phillip is damaged and Eloise pushes back hard. And she puts the kids in their place when they prank her while also realizing they are desperately trying to get their father's attention. Phillip is problematic, but so are all the male romantic leads in Bridgerton.
It makes no logical sense for show Eloise to be with Philip tho, she is shown to be terrible with kids and to have zero interest in fixing a broken man. Not to mention that his initial intentions were to have any woman who would agree to be a wife and a mother for his kids, with no interest in the woman herself. Show Eloise would see that and run so fast

fair point. it's just that bridgerton (the show) kinda exists outside the realm of historical accuracy, so it could still be possible :)

just because the bar is in hell, doesn't mean eloise has to go there
