I've been waiting for the interview with Dr. Candow since Simon mentioned he was coming on the show. I just started taking creatine to help with muscle loss and hopefully improve my skeletal structure. It was amazing to hear so much in-depth research and all the questions I had were answered. Thanks for another outstanding episode.
I worry about this aspect, it seems like it would push growth, possibly cancerous? Is it worth given the conversation seems to say, working out is 97% of the benefits.
Simon, my husband and I started taking creatine after watching your last video about it. We started at a low dose and kept it that way. We both had problems with constipation even though we were drinking a lot more water and it completely changed the nature of our stools to be very sticky and tarry with a very bad smell. We both quit taking it and it took about a month before my digestion felt like it was back to normal. I really wanted to take creatine because the research on it is so compelling but I sure don't want to try again!
Just to add..a decade or so ago much of the creatine available was found with a process that introduced contaminants. The industry says this is all fixed now and some fitness experts on you tube, but I only trust crea pure, a originally german sourced manufacturing process of creatine. But with crea pure I think they may have bought the patent. Used to be back in the day creatine would automatically bloat you with water. The reason was found the contaminants not the creatine itself. I think in this cheap is not best. For years you had to search out the german manufacturing process now crepure it is pretty easily found.

Great topic, as a post menopausal 59 yr old, I take hydrolized collagen peptide and EAAs. I typically consume them separately (when at home) mixed in water, I’ve just started adding Creatine. Question about its effect on the immune system: Ever since I went fully vegan eight years ago I never ever got sick. Except every time in the last two years I started to take creatine, one week into it I get ill. I tried it six times and at every single try I got the flu. When I stop taking it and after some time of recovery I once again don’t get sick until the next try of starting creatine. Or instead of supplementing with synthetic creatine, you can eat Meat, Fish, Dairy, Eggs which will completely eliminate the need for supplementation. It’s always hilarious to watch a vegan youtuber to promote an essential nutrient that only exists in animal based diet. These type of nutrients is the strongest proof that humans have evolved to eat a primarily meat based diet and we can’t survive on a vegan diet unless you’re dependent on synthetic vitamins and minerals. Go on Simon, it’s fun to watch these contradictions in your nutrition philosophy with human evolution.

For many it works. I find a much greater than 2% boost when I first took it years ago.
Since then I have been mostly on it and it takes a bit to drain out of the system after taking it. So not so noticeable now.
But it is way cheap as supplements go. If exercising particularly resistance training I suggest trying it then not buying it again if you are a non responder, Heavy meat eaters tend to be the non responders.
The bass is the man’s voice just broke my AirPods 😭
Haha sorry
truth is you will use all the protein up even if it is 200gms in one dose
Why don’t they have many studies on hair loss with Creatine? It’s a billions of dollars of industry and hair loss is one of the most important issues for men and they don’t even have a single study except for that rugby players DHT went up study? It’s weird and I wanna take creatine but also don’t wanna be the Guinea pig as I like my hair.
P.S. to the question below: assuming my creatine levels are normal.

1 Reasons You Should Not Supplement With Creatine, possible prostate enlargement.
You didnt need to qualify what you meant when u said 'woman' at the 10 minute mark..... we ALL knew exactly what u meant. Dont join in with the pantomime.
Creatine is clear evidence we need to eat meat🥰
Creatine doses are typically 3-5 grams, roughly the amount in 1 kg + of red meat so no not really.
@@TheProofWithSimonHill not so difficult…
Eat 1-2 servings of red meat a day to get enough creatine only to die of cancer or heart disease before you're 60, duh 🤔
How come? You don't need to eat meat to get creatine.
I think our teeth indicates we should eat some type of meat but I cant tolerate the smell texture or taste of any meat. 😅
Red meat has plenty of carnitine. It's the source so just eat meat sillies.
I think you confused creatine and carnitine, and also failed to know that red meat does not have "plenty" of creatine either.
@@TheProofWithSimonHill creatine comes from animals! Same thing , eat the source not some pill lol
@@jeffrey4577eating meat doesn’t significantly alter the levels in the body. Meat does contain creatine but much of it is destroyed in the cooking process.
Supplementing with creatine allows us to significantly increase the creatine levels in our cells without the burden of eating large quantities of meat and the associated calories.
