  • First, I want to talk about the outward feel. The Gan comes with a UV or a matte texture, and the one I have is UV. Like other UV cubes, it feels grippy and smooth. As for its grip, it has dimples on the corners. The Dayan has glossy plastic and ridges. Even though the Gan and the Dayan have different grip designs, I find that they feel equally grippy. I don’t think one grip design is worse or better than the other, because they both excellently help me grip the puzzle in solves. I can freely switch between the two megaminxes without needing to get used to the ridges or dimples again. The Gan is slightly larger than the Dayan, and it is easy to feel the difference. After using the Gan, the Dayan feels small in my hands.
In terms of turning feel, they turn smoothly and provide a good turning experience, with the Gan having a stronger magnetic bump than the Dayan. For specifically the Gan, I would say that the turning feel is most like the Gan 12. I am happy to say that both cubes are stable, which is something that I personally felt was a weakness of the previous Dayan megaminx. I believe that this improvement comes from the core magnets that these two puzzles utilize. It is really exciting to see core magnets come to more puzzles! In fact, I have a video coming out about a core magnetic 7x7. A complaint I have heard before is that Gan cubes have lockup issues. With this megaminx, I have not noticed it.
Now, which one is the better purchase? I would say it is the Dayan. Even though the two megaminxes are equally good, it is important to factor in price and the value. The cheapest the Gan gets is $57, while the Dayan is $36 or $37. Therefore, I would recommend purchasing the Dayan over the Gan because it is a puzzle that performs just as well for 33%+ cheaper.

I’m pretty sure the gan mega is better, but I’m not spending $60 on a ball core with pre set tension. I’ll just get the Dayan since I’m not a serious mega solver and it would be a great upgrade form the yuhu, due its lighter weight and smaller size

What have found is the Dayan is too slippery that it turns too fast. Can make for accidental turns. It does crazy stuff that realistically could mess up ur PB. The Gan v2 feels more balanced as a Megaminx.

@@toonzelda3353 understandable, dayan's grip design is barely useful, and the weird stuff do happen on the guhong pro too lol

Can you change the color scheme in the gan? yellow opposite white. In the dayan it is possible but I don't know if in the gan
