I have a 1997 Rodeo...for many years I had been concerned of losing the gas cap when getting gas (forgetting to put it back on...setting cap on roof during fueling)...then I saw a YT video where a guy mentioned Japanese cars have a gas cap clip holder behind gas cap door. I don't notice it for over 20 years! LoL!
They were definitely ahead of their game with that in-and-out electric mirror on the side of the vehicle. I do not even have that on mine, and I wish I did have that on my vehicle which is a 2017 Subaru Outback V6.
Welcome, new subscriber Dave, Just drove that vehicle to work with the horse today. It was indeed ahead of its time. Too bad Isuzu stopped selling passenger cars here in the U.S.
My roof rack holes were covered with tape and paint from the factory (as is many other Troopers), making them REALLY hard to find. The POWER/WINTER buttons are for changing shift points in your transmission. Winter starts you in a higher gear (3rd, I think) so you don't lose traction when moving from a stop. Power mode changes your shift points so your RPMs can go a little higher before shifting.
Thanks for the info on the Power/Winter buttons. I never really used these since living in the desert there is no snow and little rain. Might help in deep sand???
beautiful vehicle. I have the same model, but the manual version. my sister screwed a lot of it up, but i got it for free. im looking to rebuild the entire thing, has over 500k on the engine. such an incredible example of perfect engineering on a vehicle. damn car really earned the title of trooper. keep good care of it, not like my sister.
Good deal. At present mine is in the shop for repair of leak in torque converter gasket. First time in 28 years. Otherwise runs well and is my preferred daily driver. When you roll those passenger seats up you will have tons of space for moving large objects or camping gear. Enjoy!
Thanks for that info, I've wondered about how those switches affected the trans exactly. Those plastic strips over the rain gutters on my 94 are totally dryrotted. Anyone know where they might be repurchased?? I love my LS but it needs lots of tlc. Can't afford to fix but don't want to give it up.
How do you lift the seats up all the way like that? I just bought a 95 trooper and can’t seem to figure out how to do that. I’m sure it’s really simple but I can’t find anything online about it and I can’t seem to figure it out myself
I did not know this. Thank you. I had my Trooper off-road yesterday since I had not placed it in 4WD for several months. Still works perfectly after 28 years.
@@H.pylori I have an older one it’s. 1991. There is a black info plate located in the engine compartment to the left fire wall. It will have option info see if yours has this G80 if it does you have a a automatic locker from factory. If you don’t it’s still ok you have what I have Open differential.
@@neftalisoto4757 Thanks. It is midnight here now, so I can't wait to check the plate in the morning. Will let you know. Strange how I posted one video that I thought no one would care about and as a result I have learned more about my TROOPER than I knew for the past 28 years.
@@neftalisoto4757 I checked the plate and looked at all of the abbreviations and none are "G80." Engine: RLU. Trans: RMQ. None of the OPTION codes show a "G80." So I suppose I do not have an automatic locker. Not surprised, since I have the basic TROOPER S. I have learned something new. Thanks again.
Спасибо за просмотр. И да, эту модель в 1993 году недоработали, но потом модернизировали. Thanks for watching. And yes, this model was underpowered in 1993, but later upgraded.

Another great story for the ISUZU archives. I did find the clip on my gas door after one year.

500K?? Amazing. Thanks for the advice. Will keep it.
Bought that same model and color for $600 recently. Was in great condition. Gave it a tune up and runs like a champ!

That’s a good deal. I paid $2000 for one with lots of mods, but the mods were added 150k miles ago 😂
