In his later years Tony ran a pet shop in Belmont, near Sutton called Nutkins. I worked in a unit just behind the shop. I remember one day he managed to lock himself out and he was quite panicked as to what to do. I told him to look the other way and I managed to open the door to his great suprise! I told him to get a better lock after that. I remember his lovely parrot (I think it was a parrot!) which if memory serves me correctly was called Kiki. Even when my business moved away we used to buy our pet supplies from Tony until we moved house. He was a very warm hearted, genuine guy with an obvious passion for what he did.

In terms of depressing openings, this was a close second to Superted...

I found a magic torch in my Dad’s wardrobe when I was a kid - it was pink on one end. It didn’t lead to a magical land, it just vibrated and was a bit sticky 🤷🏻‍♂️

Absolute classic. Not like the S*** the put out now. Bring back Jamie and the Magic Torch anyday. Scares me to think I'm so old notice at 41 lol. Like watched that over 30 years ago ;-)

Even to this day I’m still waiting for the origin of how Jamie found the magic torch.
