Sometimes I miss the rawness of seasons 1 - 3. The thing about Shangela in Season 3 is that her personality and natural charisma were already there, and she was already excelling in challenges that required natural humour or personality. Shangela, like Alyssa, is a True Star! It can't be faked, it can't be forced, it's either there or its not. It's innate. That's why crowns and awards rarely mean anything real, those are all very subjective to who's doing the choosing. Most of the "losers" on shows are the ones who end up being more successful than the "winners" anyway. I've learned this even in my own life, when you know you have a special light inside you, hold onto it no matter what.
Shangela, one of the few queens who did not need production pushing her to the top by giving her unnecessary wins or saving her from bottoms 2. That is why she is so loved. Production needs to keep this in mind. We are not blind!

No. You don’t go from specifically not attacking KL in s7 because of the innocents to burning it down in s8 overnight. I’m fine with her going mad but it needed to be more dragged out and a slower process where you could really see it happen, especially for those who didn’t pick up on the “hints” or read the books. If it went on for a larger period of time (over several seasons) it would feel far more believable and not have the criticism and hate it receives, at least not to this degree. There was a lot wrong with season 8, this was one of those things.

Her not making the finale is one of the biggest reasons they never did the Jury twist again I believe. It was completely unfair that she dominated the competition and didn't get her deserved spot in the finale because of a bitter jury. I'm very happy they only did this twist once and I hope that it is never brought back again. Edit: And if they ever did decide to do it again, at least announce the twist at the beginning of the competition so maybe the queens can strategize a little better, sort of like Survivor.
She may have always walked away without the crown and just her corn..but she made it bigger than some winning queens and knew how to spin her exposure in the right direction! You go girl!

@@itsdannyhoney the problem isn’t so much her going “mad” it’s how fast it happened. Yes there were signs, there were hints and foreshadowing, but is that character development? No. You don’t go from specifically not attacking KL in s7 because of the innocents to burning it down in s8 overnight. I’m fine with her going mad but it needed to be more dragged out and a slower process where you could really see it happen, especially for those who didn’t pick up on the “hints” or read the books. If it went on for a larger period of time (over several seasons) it would feel far more believable and not have the criticism and hate it receives, at least not to this degree. There was a lot wrong with season 8, this was one of those things.

Her not making the finale is one of the biggest reasons they never did the Jury twist again I believe. It was completely unfair that she dominated the competition and didn't get her deserved spot in the finale because of a bitter jury. I'm very happy they only did this twist once and I hope that it is never brought back again.
Edit: And if they ever did decide to do it again, at least announce the twist at the beginning of the competition so maybe the queens can strategize a little better, sort of like Survivor.
She may have always walked away without the crown and just her corn..but she made it bigger than some winning queens and knew how to spin her exposure in the right direction! You go girl!
