We are celebrating 50 years on May 1st...we go to the store the day after and get chocolate 1/2 price. LOL
Yes! It’s been 28 years for us and 1/2 off those giant boxes of the good chocolates is the highlight of Valentines for us, lol. Congrats on your upcoming 50th!

@CJS CJS. .honestly, I don't know! !! LOL You have to do a lot of forgiving. .don't hold grudges...When you have disagreements (and you will ) don't insult each other or call each other names!! Just a few tips...I bet The Holderness's book has alot of good tips, also!! Best of luck!
Communication is everything! Every February I tell my husband what I'm hoping for valentines day so he doesn't have to guess. He appreciates it! Cause it literally changes every year! "Just flowers," "fancy chocolates," "cheapo assorted chocolates," "nothing, I'm pregnant and nauseous and food is evil." He's a kind and patient man 😅
This is my life. My husband would be putting in his mouth guard and putting on his sleep apnea mask. I still love every bit of him, after 23 years.

After almost 27 years we say, ‘Honey, are we doing cards this year?” Then we agree not to. A far cry from the diamond engagement ring in the box of chocolates I got all those years ago! Lol.

That pressure is the WORST! Moms who work are allowed to buy treats, but us stay-at-homes are expected to make everything with Martha Stewart perfection. Glad my kids are in university now :)
I can relate. Valentines is hands down the most disappointing holiday ever created. You either feel terrible that you don’t have a “valentine” or worse you have someone but they do nothing. I dread the holiday, I guess it’s time to start looking for my gift. I love holidays and life and am usually pretty optimistic about things believe it or not 😂.
Every company ever rides the guilt trip in February. My Mom's favourite flower is roses, but she won't let Dad buy them for her on Valentine's or Mother's Days just because of that!

We've been married 40 years and counting! This year, hubby is driving me 2 hours both ways to get a dozen special gluten free paczkis the day before Valentines; I told him, thats' a double Valentines gift to me -- time with him and yummy treats!
I just found this video but the fire truck is very on point 🤣 all I could think of was Penn’s ADHD video and thinking, “Oh no, 4 things going with ADHD? That’s a recipe for disaster!” And then the fire truck blared and I about died laughing 🤣

I think that applies to almost every year for Kim. “You made me a card that says free hugs with a sharpie you just found in the drawer? No actually I have your credit card, you just bought me a hot stone deep tissue massage and 90 whole minutes away from the kids just like last year! Thank you Penn! You’re so generous!” 🙃
The only problem with doing that is if you do that every year they will give up and quit trying cause they know you’ll buy yourself your own Valentine’s s day gift anyway.

Oh yes, many times. I don't think I would have ever gotten a gift if the men at work hadn't shamed my hubby into getting me something. Sigh. Let's see if he remembers this year. If he doesn't I'll just say, "that's okay, you bought me something from eBay" and then I'll go buy something. I win either way. But I always make sure to do something special for him, like bake brownies cause he loves brownies.
@@darkdaygirl that literally happened today😂 i guessed he would be last minute or get me nothing so i showed him the exact flowers on the website, selected the box of chocolate to go with it, and he paid😂😂😂 pretty much the same thing happened at my birthday. This or i build a wish list on amazon and he pick😆 but he find it easier like this and i’m still pretty happy. I mean I get exactly what i wanted so it’s fine haha Not very romantic i agree bit hey, some guys, you just gotta help them lol He’s still a very good husband and always bring me something cute from the store like a bag of candy, so i don’t really mind having to do that:P
The evolution of valentines day during a 38 year marriage. The first 10 years " Here's a valentines day card honey, I love you." The next 28 years. "Oh it's Valentines Day? Just another day" This also applies to anniversaries, birthdays, and Christmas. No gifts, no cards and I am cool with that. I don't need stuff to know my husband loves me. He's stuck with me for 38 years so that must mean something right? Happy Valentines Day Ya'll!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making me laugh this week. I have related to SO many of your videos over the many months - we have a 5 and 3 year old so I’m currently in the “don’t forget the preschool Valentines and hummus for the class party” stage. We had to say goodbye to our sweet dog Penny on Friday of almost 11 years. While I am grieving her loss and completely heartbroken, your videos this week still managed to make me belly laugh amidst all of the tears. I can relate to all three! My husband and I have been married for almost 17 years now! Our first Valentine day we got infected with Rotavirus from a friends kid that we baby sat! And we fought to use the bathroom and eventually just gave up and stayed in the bathroom together! It is hilarious now thinking about it! 😂😂😂

M’y first kid was born on Valentine’s Day, so that’s our new way to celebrate. Sometimes, we go to date style restaurant and have the waiters sing the annoying birthday song, just to ruin the mood for couples… great time!

In all fairness I am probably one of the few women not lying when they say "you don't have to get me anything for [insert BS holiday/anniversary/Bday etc]". My fiance and I consistently do thoughtful things for each other year round that we don't need some stupid holiday to feel loved or appreciated. Just happy together. That is what matters.
