    I dedicate this song to the loving memories of my dear father. He would play side A and B of the cassette repeatedly while driving in Kogi state back in 1993. He would interpret the lyrics to me. I miss you forever, dad.

    We Nigerians and Africans will continue to miss MKO Abiola, a great 👍🏿 man with vision and a philanthropist to the core, not minding religion differences but because of bad leadership in Africa and corruption, his life was cut short. Keep on resting in peace Baba Kola 🙏🏽

      One thing must kill a man. If he hadn't died of partisan politicking, something else would have killed him at that time. So, Abiola died at his God' appointed time. Every soul shall have a taste of death and a second wouldn't be added at the God's appointed time.

    • @julieidowuwuraola9319

      Abiola was a member of NPN then, his right as a member of the party made him contested for the position of the party national chairman. The then cabals were not happy with him contesting reason may be the agenda we are now experiencing. Umaru Diko publicly came out to pronounce what I can now see in the political parties of late that the party chairmanship position wasn't for sale. Meaning MKO financial contribution to the party will never allow us derailed. We can't allow you, you are not d type of personality needed in process of actualizing our plan to fulanarize the entire country called Nigeria.
      On this, MKO made a national broadcast I was privileged to listened to in a 4 O'clock FRCN news in 1982, to announce his quitting politics. I felt he may not be able to be off politics. But he did. He faced his conglomerate business including bn a govt contractor, (ITT) and successful. I remember his football team (Abiola babes of Abeokuta) He was a lover of spot. Even at lost in some finals. He stood up and never accept the team failure to get him off his zeal.
      However, back to the reason he contested:- He was the only marketable strong personality Nigerians needed to unseat the "evil genius" IBB hidden agenda of staying in power for life, who decreed series of political tactics of democracy under military leadership, he cajoled many politicians from local to state govts to participates in politics, many fell and joined these political movement or race,. Only for him to come out one day to ban all that had ever participated or held any political post from participating any longer in politics by just a decree. The pressure mounted by Nigerians to get him out off power, made him (IBB) formed the then 2 political parties( SDP & NRC).
      We don't know or see any that would have succeed IBB, the reason MKO was pressured to save the country from Military rule. MKO, never yielded without consulting IBB if he truly wanted to leave. The trust of assurance in a friend (IBB)led MKO joined the race. The rest is now history. MAY HIS SOUL CONTINUE TO REST IN PEACE.

    I remember MKO always at our house in the late 70's and early 80's.
    The man was generous to everyone.
    He was in his early 40's? WOW.
    I am now 56.
    Can also remember he, Muritala and my dad working on the future of telecommunications in Nigeria.
    I think he would have done a great job as President of the Country.

    • @naturalblockade3412
      @naturalblockade3412 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. He received lots of money to lay telephone pipes in Lagos. He never completed the contract but he received the money. Remember, Fela's International Thief Thief (ITT). It is safe to assume that as president of Nigeria he would have collected money for uncompleted projects.

    • @03theLight

      @@naturalblockade3412 Overall, he did more good for the people. I know what you mean.

    • @naturalblockade3412
      @naturalblockade3412 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@03theLight more good? Just by giving money to the bootlickers. I was an eye witness several times at the Surulere National Stadium in the late 1970s through to mid 1980s.
      On another note, as a member of the Constitution Drafting committee, he insisted that the Sharia court system should be included in the Constitution. Other members disagreed and pointed out that Nigeria is neutral regarding religion. A compromise was reached such that any state (if it so desires) can include the Sharia court system. Remember what happened in Zamfara state where a woman was to be executed for infidelity, and the subsequent global outrage.
      Also, MKO financed a mosque at Muritala airport.
      With MKO as president, Nigeria would have become a full member of the Organization of Islamic Countries. A feat which IBB tried and failed.

      He was killed because the wicked military men and civilians didn't want Nigeria to be ok, they were just afraid that if he became Nigeria president, Nigerians and Africans will come out of bondage and 2nd slavery. He was the 1st African man to ever travel with Concord, the fastest aeroplane more than anyone else in the world. So many international intervention from Britain, USA and UN led to his death. Now Nigerians and Africans are suffering from the hands of our greedy, selfish, wicked and self-centered leaders and politicians. Keep on resting in peace MKO Abiola

Despite he being a former head of state, he still wasn't the most famous Egba man, he did not have the fame and respect that MKO Abiola naturally exuded. Even during his second coming as president and in Abiola's death, his administration was still over shadowed by Abiola's legacy. It is well
