- Retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent and Founder of Delta 7 Group performs three tests to check the signal blocking capabilities of the SLNT® Faraday Phone Sleeve.
The tests were performed with an iPhone and RF Transmitter. An RF transmitter is 12x more powerful than cellular and can produce signals up to a mile away.
Test 1- Bluetooth 60 mW max output
Test 2 - Wifi 100 mW max output
Test 3 - Cellular 2W max output
Testing was performed with a Spectrum Analyzer.
REI OSCOR Green Spectrum Analyzer (10 kHz to 24 GHz)
SPECTRATEK, 750 milliwatt VHF transmitter (@ 160MHz)
All tests revealed that the SLNT® Faraday Phone Sleeve blocks all signals.

FINALLY someone who actually knows how to test a Faraday bag. I knew at the moment I looked at you and thought "he looks like an old fart engineer like myself, maybe he knows what he's talking about". You do. Much appreciated! You have a new subscriber.
This might be the best comment of all time! Glad you liked it.
@@goslntI hope I’m also fine being called “an old fart” when I’m you’re age.
Yep I had the same feeling about him too..he knows what he is talking about..he also convinced me to get one of these for my keyless fob..👍🏾
I'm seeing this today in 2024 . I been wondering how well do they work and what type to get. Computers as well. Great vedio
it's depressing seeing amazon reviewers reviewing all qualities of faraday bag except the very reason why it is named 'faraday bag'
Got one at a conference, after doing testing at home. I’m confident it’s blocking everything. Good quality too
Stoked you are enjoying the product.
@@goslntwhat about the microphone inside how much can it hear?
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. So many cars are being stolen in my area in less than 30 seconds. I'm definatly going to buy one of these
Short, credible & concise. Thank you so much. I really appreciate your efforts.
*NOTES* - Testing a Faraday bag
1). *Bluetooth* (60mW Max output)
Test the Bluetooth module on the phone by linking it with a Bluetooth device e.g. speaker. Play music on the linked speaker & then place the phone in the Faraday cage/box/wallet. If the music stops playing on the linked speaker your Faraday device has successfully blocked Bluetooth.
2). *Wifi* (100 mW Max output)
Turn the wifi into the on position on your mobile phone. Check that it has succesfully connected to your local network hub via a network analyser. Then place the phone into the Faraday cage/box/wallet & use the said network analyzer to check that the phone is still connected to the local hub. If the Faraday device has succesfully blocked wifi it should have decoupled the phone from the local hub.
3). *Cellular* (2W Max output)
Ring your selected mobile phone & check that it is receiving calls. Then place your selected phone into the Faraday cage/box/wallet & ring it again via a second phone. If the enclosed phone can not be heard to ring the Faraday device has blocked the cellular module.
Always check the faraday pouch/box regularly to see if it's still working or not. A lot of customers comment about this. The faraday fabric/sheet inside the pouch/box can crack from bending because of regular use of opening and closing the pouch, so the pouch/box unable to block the signal. If it happens try to change the faraday fabric/sheet inside the pouch.
i saw some chineese bag on amazon for like 20$ who seems to work , what do you think about that?
Double bag, with a large one containing a smaller one?
Yep.. mine failed today after 12 months use..
In cable, we use a spectrum analyzer to determine if there is noise in the home on the coax lines. Very useful tool that gets used 6 or more times a day for me
they use that on DSL too... testing for noise on the line.
i am curious if you could buy a thicker coax cable that protects from outside noise. future proof your home!
Everyone needs this bag.
We agree!
That's the truth 👍💯
I subscribed instantly. Why? Such clear, educated, no nonsense, no waffle informative video, no padding, no frills. It's exactly what I'm looking for and -sadly- so unlike the majority of vids out there for people wanting to learn. This guy knows his stuff. 👍💪🏽👏🏽
Simple and straightforward with the physics explained and demonstrated. Subscribed.
Man my wife will be pissed when I don’t answer my phone.
Can you guys make a padded Faraday bag that will fit a tactical helmet with attached ear pro and store night vision binoculars as well?
I'll send the request to our design team.
@@goslnt thanks!
Good stuff! Thank you for sharing.
Wouldn’t it go straight to voicemail if it wasn’t connected to service like as if the phone was off or if it had no signal
Mine just came in the mail. I opened it up has my phone connected to the wifi and had my mother call my phone and it and the call still came through
sounds like bullshit trolling to me
Thank You ❤️
My question is more for an EMP, will this bag work against a massive EMP? Is a faraday cage still better suited for an EMP? I like the idea of being mobile with my electronics and electronically protected anywhere I go.
Yes SLNT bags are tested to protect against EMP attacks and solar flares.
@@ericimsland2342test where?
@@ericimsland2342who gives a shit if your phone works after a major emp…..The cell towers won’t be working 😂Your phone will still be useless lol
Will a faraday bag protect from microwave interrogation such as that being used in casinos to track customers with concealed firearms?
Hi. I not familiar with microwave interrogation that casinos use for concealed firearms. You can view all our testing results here slnt.com/pages/slnt-testing All of our Faraday products do block Cellular, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, RFID, NFC, EMR, EMP, EMF, and Radiation. Let me know if you have any other questions.
@@goslntMillimeter waves, such as used by the Evolv system.
But what about sound waves?
Very informative. Video even seemed short
Thanks for the feedback.
just picked one up! thx for sharing :)
Hope you enjoy it!
Do you happen to know where I could buy?A legitimate faraday fabric in a larger quantity than one yard
What Faraday case was that?
U2? Im subbing!!!
OMG😮😮😮,,didn't know about this
This is for an emp attack correct?
Please educate me: why have a phone if you put it in bag so it doesn’t work or why not just turn the phone off if you do t want it?
you can never be sure. what if instead of shutting down, the phone is just hibernating and still sending low power signals (that happens, btw)
unless we have removable battery, this seems the 2nd best choice
Thank you for taking the time.
Cheap heavy duty aluminium foil from the supermarket works just as well when wrapped with four layers around a switched-off smartphone, because yes, neither your 'Faraday' bag or aluminium foil can stop 100% of a phone's attempt to connect to a network when it devotes full power to the GSM aerial as it cycles down to 2G for the purpose of SOS calls. The only way to prevent a signal getting in or out is to switch off the phone before placing it into the foil or your bag...
Do mm waves penetrate these bags?
Can the phone hear and record conversations while in the faraday bag?
I understand that it isn't an easy task, however, can you provide any real testing that would help ensure any of your products would protect against an EMP or CME?
Hi, Sorry for the delay in our response. You can check out our full 3rd party testing results here:slnt.com/pages/slnt-testing
@@goslnti dont understand anything there. ‚We test it with international military‘ what is this supposed to mean
Did you ever find an answer to this? Or find one that would protect against EMP?
@@JuliePatel-lc1dy I've read the report and based on several related topic companies the answer is yes, it works to degrees. The only real solution is to layer protection. Or, I guess, don't get EMP'ed. 😁
I'm buying this for Oct 4.
if you can start your vehicle with a phone app, can someone get to your app from their phone?
Or get into your phone and activate the start feature?

Does it stop handheld metal detector wands?
No not at all, the bags block radio frequency, not metal. I'm pretty sure there's metal in the bags anyway
What brand and size is that bag i am currently looking or one just for my cell phone ??
Brand is SLNT and can be purchased at SLNT.com we have Faraday bags for all size devices. slnt.com
Body bag size, and 'supersize that for your entire vehicle. And hope you have a full gas tank cause there is going to be some serious power outages in your immediate area. EG the gas pumps won't work.
Failed with testing F150 '22 key fob.
(SERIOUS QUESTION) Can it block the location of a common cellphones anywhere in the world? is that GPS Tracker im talkling about? My wife is the best detective in the world
It’s really easy to make your own bag.
How do I get one big enough for my s23 ultra?

Does the phone need to be turned off in order to place it in the bag?
NO!
Airplane modus

My SLNT Silent Sleve cellphone pouch
FAILED and l was not aware.
Failed at the seal.
Looks like the faraday fabric/sheet was crumbling because of bending when you use it. Try to change it with faraday fabric/sheet. Always check the faraday box regularly.

Way too many vehicles going bye-bye and off to Africa, or the Asian Sub Continent.
Come down to the station tomorrow and fill out a form for your insurance company is what you will get from the sargent on desk duty.
These key fobs are super aren't they?
We should bill all the different manufacturers of remote-starting vehicles. Maybe then, and only then, will anything stop or slow down the thiefts.
it is totally out of control and the courts just give a slap on the wrist to those who get caught.
pretty sad affair.
And if you do anything to stop it/you're the dude going to jail my friend.
i haven’t watched the video but if i were to put my phone in a faraday bag could a metal detector people use on the beach or something detect it?
Yess, because a metal detector detects metal (distortion of magnetic field etc) and Faraday principle is based on a Metal Mesh.
So the pouches will be detected

What about protection from electromagnetic pulse?
Yes 100%

Will it protect against an EMP????
A Faraday body bag is the way you should go, dude.
If you're worried about EMP I would be more worried about the nuclear fallout that is soon to follow where you live.
In which case it is lights out for Daddy.
There are limits you know. I am sure your car electronics will be well-cooked, making your key fob contents useless anyway.
Just a thought.Peace Out Dude.
Not much you can do if your phone records sound while even powered off. Even better if it transcribes.
I have my own reasons for wanting one, but why would people want this?
Phone must be in Airplane modus.
Do not turn it off
this "testing" proves little. while I'm not skeptical about the use of a good so called faraday bag, THIS particular way of claiming bluetooth and wifi signals are entirely blocked just because "music stopped playing" or "the device is not connected to the gateway" is BS. The music may stutter or stop just because several bits of information are lost and the speaker has lost connection with the phone, but that doesn't mean that ABSOLUTELY ANY BIT is blocked and not transmitted through the bag. You should have used your fancy tool which "FBI uses to detect covert listening device" or similar tool to check if there is NO bluetooth and NO wifi signal transmitted from the phone placed inside the bag, and so this testing would become more valid.
Thanks for the feedback - I'll tell the team we need to make that video. In the meantime you can check out our full 3rd party testing page that exceeds the Military standards.slnt.com/pages/slnt-testing
I did not find that this channel has done "NO bluetooth and NO wifi signal transmitted from the phone". Do you know of any bag/company where this *has* been done? Or is there an easy way I can do it myself?
Does thorough tin foil coverage or a tin can with lid not do the same?
Can we buy ut?
