Brian McMahon was the best Cox in rowing for years. His career holds 31 gold medals from the age of 15 as a Heavy 8 Cox. Canada couldn't go to Moscow Olympics in 1980, but toured the world kicking ass. I love the American coverage compared to the Canadian sports announcers. The bias is amusing. Head of the Charles 30 min. of hell was dominated by Adanac in Black. Brian McMahon leading and running other boats into bridges. Pure skill. Bravo.
Failed to mention that Canada also. Beat the eastern block countries in Lucerne...and the US. (No upset for anyone following rowing that year. Might have fooled them with a stuck rudder in the opening heat and having to compete in a recharge (an extra race) to advance.
