If you are being arrogant then either you know your case or you are an idiot! How do you expect judge to know every aspect of law but you find the advocate being unprepared but still arrogant to be perfectly acceptable? Isn’t it insulting to the court? The judge has to go through so many cases a day and cannot do one mistake but advocate can float on arrogance without having knowledge. Good lesson for advocate. He’ll come better prepared next time and cases will go quickly!
@@jholworld He wasn't being arrogant at all, he was asked if he has read his case and he said yes, not knowing the law on a particular point doesn't mean he didn't read at all, that is a logical fallacy and look up the contempt of courts act you might get an idea what insult of court is, and your logic is really dumb, in one line you are saying lawyer not knowing the law on a topic is insult of the court and in next line you are saying a judge can't know all the laws, i mean, make up your mind, lawyers are human too, knowing all the laws isn't possible for anyone..... also every time the lawyer tried to say he has read the petition he was rudely interrupted, its quite clear what was happening, humiliating a lawyer like that isn't right.... keep your ignorance to yourself.
Did I say judge can’t know all the laws? Where did I say that? I said you “expect” the judge to know all the laws and so I “expect” the advocates to know their case and laws pertaining to that. I’m not legal person but from what I understand before case is presented the judges do look at the docket and prepare so if judge can have questions risen in his mind from case files then the sole job of advocate is to prepare for that. And we need kick in the backside approach in today’s world especially. Come prepared or accept your mistake or lack of knowledge and be humble. You can’t say you are prepared exactly after saying you need to review things. That’s a fallacy and more close to stupidity. If you don’t want to be humiliated do your job well else go sell burgers if you can’t take it but can dish it out!
