Her voice type is called contralto. Lowest female voice type. But on her age - 18y - she still is able to develop into soprano as well, which is the highest female voice type. Pretty confusing for non-experts in vocal training. As if this is not enough Diana has the ability to sing polyphonic, which confuses much more and makes her voice full and rich like noone else. The woman who gave birth to her had many pregnancies, only Diana survived ... and she abused the child and tried to drown it. Welcome to the extraordinary sound of Diana Ankudinova! Diana was only 18 years old when this performance took place during the 2021 season of a Russian vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn". This cover of the Elvis Presley classic "I Can't Help Falling In Love" now belongs to Diana and it really demonstrates that Diana Ankudinova has a true contralto sound. A contralto is the lowest female voice type and is very rare. But it's not just how low you can go, it's in the quality of Diana's tone in her lower range, it's also in her timbre, the roundness, and the depth of her voice along with her resonance, further define Diana as a "dramatic contralto", the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. Diana is also a true polyphonic singer which in itself is also a very rare talent and it's defined as a vocal technique that creates two different tones at the same time which adds to her harmonic overtones and undertones that make it sound like two different voices at the same time. This was the first performance of nine from the show TheShowMaskGoOn in Russia last year. All nine performers are the judges and rated each other weekly. All the songs were chosen for the performers over different genres except the last performance, which the artist chose. Her voice type is called contralto. Lowest female voice type. But on her age - 18y - she still is able to develop into soprano as well, which is the highest female voice type. Pretty confusing for non-experts in vocal training.
As if this is not enough Diana has the ability to sing polyphonic, which confuses much more and makes her voice full and rich like noone else. Diana is unique.

Diana was born in May 2003 in the Far East of Russia. She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman who gave birth to her had many pregnancies, only Diana survived ... and she abused the child and tried to drown it. One day this 3 year old child was found at a bus stop with a broken collarbone and taken to an orphanage.
There she finally found love ... by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist who treated the children from the children's home. Diana came to a poor but loving family when she was 5 years old.
Diana spoke badly, cried a lot and was still very scared, but she could all sing songs from cartoons. A doctor recommended singing lessons. And so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started …
Diana has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest and lowest female voice type (her range C3-D6). Diana's voice also sometimes has a polyphonic undertone. You hear: Her voice sounds an octave below the singing voice. (But not everyone can hear that.) Diana also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl.
Diana impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions.
In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered a unique competition and won twice. This project is unique in the world, an international TV- competition: 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children.
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to TH-cam and soon she had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists start their studies and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship.
Igor Krutoy, here as a juror, gave her a small apartment (37m²/398,26 ft²) in Moscow. There, in the small flat she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to begin her vocal training with the best teachers.
2020 Diana graduated from high school with honors as an external student a year earlier than it is 'normal'. That alone shows how smart and hardworking she is.
She applied to music colleges and was rejected (examiners suspected she had a voice defect). But she is totally normal and healthy. Now she is a student at the university, at the legendary Russian State Institute for Theater and Variety Arts. Congratulations on finding Diana. The clip you just watched is from a 2021 show in which several artists take turns performing for each other. Diana, now 18, does a cover of “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. She transcribed it into a minor key, and stripped out most of the lyrics, turning an innocent love song into a meditation on obsession and madness.
Some backstory (greatly abbreviated): Diana was abused and eventually abandoned by her birth parents. She was found with a broken collarbone and various speech deficits, and was placed in an orphanage. One of the staff, at the urging of her own daughter, adopted her.
As part of Diana’s recovery, her therapists suggested singing lessons. Her teachers quickly discovered that she had an extraordinary voice, and she began singing in shows and children’s festivals at every opportunity. Her big coming out took place when she was 14, and performed on Ты супер (“You’re Super”), a Russian show similar to The Voice, but restricted to orphans and children with disabilities. She won the show that year, and then again the following year when they held a series just for previous winners. Those performances have been viewed tens of millions of times, for good reason: She has a powerful, haunting voice, and her stage presence is riveting. When performing, she appears completely fearless.
Diana is 18 now, and is an emerging star in Russia and worldwide. Great singers usually reach maturity in their late 30’s, so she is just at the beginning. She appears to have people around her who are looking out for her. We can only hope so. If she is allowed to nurture her gift, I see no limit to her potential.
She is often compared with Dimash Kudaibergen, the reigning king of Olympian vocals, but I see two important differences. The first is technical: Diana’s voice has overtones that make her sound as though she is harmonizing with herself. It is something that can be taught, but she came by it naturally. Second, and more important, is that as great as Dimash is, watching him feels a bit like watching the world’s best stunt-man do amazing tricks. With Diana, there are no tricks-she just reaches into you and takes your soul.

Welcome to the extraordinary sound of Diana Ankudinova! Diana was only 18 years old when this performance took place during the 2021 season of a Russian vocal competition called the "ShowMaskGoOn". This cover of the Elvis Presley classic "I Can't Help Falling In Love" now belongs to Diana and it really demonstrates that Diana Ankudinova has a true contralto sound. A contralto is the lowest female voice type and is very rare. But it's not just how low you can go, it's in the quality of Diana's tone in her lower range, it's also in her timbre, the roundness, and the depth of her voice along with her resonance, further define Diana as a "dramatic contralto", the rarest of the rare contralto voice types.
Diana is also a true polyphonic singer which in itself is also a very rare talent and it's defined as a vocal technique that creates two different tones at the same time which adds to her harmonic overtones and undertones that make it sound like two different voices at the same time. This polyphonic sound is why some people mistakingly think she is using autotune, a voice synthesizer, a vocoder or pitch correction software, or some other artificial form of voice manipulation to alter or adjust her sound. Others think another person is singing off stage in the background, or she is lip-syncing over a pre-recorded vocal track. There is nothing artificial going on at all that is manipulating Diana's voice in any way. What you hear is all Diana Ankudinova.
The majority of female singers usually don't reach full vocal maturity until they are somewhere around 24 to 28 years of age and I am looking forward to what Diana will sound like when she reaches her full vocal maturity. When she does she will have more years of voice training with her voice teacher plus more years to hone her on-stage performance skills and when that happens, there can be no doubt that Diana Ankudinova will be a wonder to behold on stage and a vocal force to be reconded with.
Finally, this competition took place over nine days and the jury was a panel of professional singers that compete with and against each other and also judge each other. Diana Ankudinova is also a part of this jury and is judging the other singers and being judged by them. By the way, the judge on the top row that stands up first is a famous opera singer that's well known in Russia and the blond woman in the red dress that also stands and looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance and puts both hands on the top of her head knows she has to compete against Diana Ankudinova. And finally, Diana won this competition.

This was the first performance of nine from the show TheShowMaskGoOn in Russia last year. All nine performers are the judges and rated each other weekly. All the songs were chosen for the performers over different genres except the last performance, which the artist chose. I'd highly recommend you react to the other eight from her, but especially Oh It's Not Yet Evening, Crow, The Way, and Personal Jesus. She is only 18 currently and won the competition. She broke onto the scene in Russia at only 14-15 years old with performances of Dernier Danse (french), Rechenka (Russian), Wicked Game, and Human (English) on the show You Are Super. She can also sing in Spanish and Arabic.

Wow I never heard of her . Looks like a Russian last name. She must be Russian. Gosh I never heard someone have a bass sound and go all the way to a soprano or tenor sound. At the age of three in the middle of Russia's far northern Winter she was abandoned, injured, at a bus stop where she was rescued and sent to an orphanage. At the age of 5 she was still traumatized and unable to speak properly. A massage therapist who visited the orphanage trying to help kids, was the first to recognize something special in this little girl, and eventually adopted her. Diana was sent for singing lessons because it was thought that this might help her learn to speak without impediment.
Only two years later she started singing in local theater, and in street plays and performances. And soon after was entered in a Russian TV music competition for disadvantaged children. By the age of 10 she was winning local competitions, singing on live TV shows, and her songs started showing up on TH-cam. Two months ago, at the age of 18, her first performance during a new Russian television competition with several other renowned performers, has gone viral and has garnered hundreds of TH-cam 'reaction' videos, and millions of viewers. Her first song at the competition, an entirely new take on Elvis Presley's 'Can't Help Falling in Love with You' has been called mesmerizing, transcendental and other-worldly...it highlights her uniquely deep voice, and effortless range from low to high, along with her trademark dramatic and passionate interpretation. Diana Ankudinova sings mostly in Russian, English and French. She has also sung in other languages including Spanish, German and Arabic. Be warned the russian NTV (HTB in cyrillic alphabet) provides super content and quality but they claim copyright to video image very often (and WeIt media).
Hope cropping a little will be emough, if not blurring/filtering the image, putting HUGE text on it, cropping it/zooming/making it transparent, mirroring it and/or covering the logo will help to bypass.
About Diana: She just turned 18, can sing very low notes (which would make her a contralto if she were singing opera style, which she doesn't) with lovely subharmonies,
resonances, and she spice it up with multiple singing techniques. Her stage presence and emotional commitment to songs are next level as well.
