Awesome recap of the build to the Second Seminole War. In my opinion the Seminole wars are tragically over looked in popular media and history. Of all the Indian wars, it was definitely the most interesting because the Seminoles were incredibly modernized and adaptive, so fighting them wasn't as simple as other tribes the US dealt with. Would love a movie or TV show depicting the war or at least the beginning of it. So much so I'm working two books taking place during that time. Love the content too bro and keep exploring Florida. So much rich history that is often forgotten.
Between 1775 and 1924, there were 40 named conflicts that made up the US Indian Wars. Some of the “wars” only amounted to smaller skirmishes, but the battles still reshaped the American frontier. Here in Florida, there were three Seminole Wars. The First Seminole War was mainly a series of smaller skirmishes.
Chad fantastic job putting this video together. Great history taught. I’m very impressed on the quality of this . I have a small TH-cam channel also but never did a story on this fort. You did such a great job. As a fellow TH-camr I applaud your work my friend. 👍👍
Outstanding documentary well done I've been studying the Seminole conflicts 4 years and you summarize them very well they essentially had burned everything south and east of Saint Augustine down into Volusia County and even further south as a show of resistance United States military there was a collection of those who were killed under the command of Dade in Saint Augustine
Now this was more interesting than I thought it was. I'm doing a project on a historical place in Florida and I chose this because its the only thing that was decent enough to find at the time. Looks like I'm about to have a pretty detailed presentation, thanks lad.
Ok how do you not have more subscribers?? You put out such great quality videos! This one could be featured on the History Channel. You have the perfect voice for narration too. Anyway, keep up the good work and I will keep watching!
Are you upset that innocent men, women children were brutal forced of their land their rights being taken and then brutally killing NATIVE AMERICANS who love everyone?

From NY, was able to visit this place in February of 2020, just before the pandemic hit. Definitely recommend going. Thanks for this great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video and great information 👍😊
Charles Roberts Thanks Charles!

Ocala you’re not telling the truth still to this day! I’m from Atlanta, GA and most of I’m God’s gifted and highly favored daughter.
What's the parking like there? Dirt, grass, pavement?
I think it’s mostly grass.

A huge reason I do not like Ocala, FL. This behavior is still prevalent.
