Such a joy to watch your little bloke. It's something I miss (ours are all grown up). What a happy little fella. Untainted by the world and thrilled by everything he sees. Just as God intended.
Takes me back to 1996 when I first moved to this amazing country from Fiji. Everything looked and felt so different in a good way. Thanks for letting me experience that feeling once again while watching your vlogs.
I Grew up in NZ. I have fond memories of digging for hot water on Hot Water Beach and spending lazy summer days at a Coromandel camp site, swimming and exploring and hiking (tramping in kiwi parlance). Thank you for the video. Nostalgia!
Thank you for watching! We had so much fun seeing all these places for the first time. Next time we go out we want to go to Hot Water Beach at the right time. We went too late in the day so the tide was too high. And I need to remember to say tramp instead of hike! I get hung up on it every time.
The coromandel is a fantastic place. It seems to make most people chill, even at some super busy times. We've had such fun chill times, even in Christmas holidays. Glad you loved it
Your spirit is so infectious, even delightful. You remind me of myself (A Kiwi), who visited "Disney Land" for the first time years ago. Like a kid in a candy store (soo cool!) Thank you for sharing. I look forward to your videos. Your family is beautiful, especially your fearless little lifeguard. Happy birthday Becca.
Imagine moving into Disney World! That's how I feel every day. And thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to even watch our videos in the first place! Everyone is so kind here - we feel so incredibly lucky.
He learned to walk so fast, I feel! One week we were trying to get him to take two consecutive steps, and the next he was walking from one end of the house to the other unassisted! Babies are wild. And thank you so much for watching! We had a lot of fun out there. It's a beautiful part of the country.

Hey guys what a cool fun video to watch, glad you enjoyed your weekend away though I must say that ocean water must be freezing...lol low tide is the best time for hotwater beach, take care guys
Yeah we went to Hot Water Beach a bit too late in the day and the tide was too high. And I tricked myself into jumping in by going for a run and getting hot enough that the cold water seemed a bit more enticing. I hate cold water!
Thanks for your lovely videos, Becca! We’re moving back to NZ in a few months and watching your move and your excitement is like having a sneak preview into my own near future 🥰! I‘m having three kids, the little one as old as yours and I think we have a lot in common. Have a great weekend ❤️.
It looks like you had a great time! You got to do so much but I'm glad you also got to relax :) I'm also glad the weather wasn't too bad because Coromandel is definitely better in the sunshine!
It was absolutely incredible! We loved every minute of our time out there. And you're right about the sunshine! Every time it rained it made us glad that it only lasted for a bit.
@@Becca.Loveless Don't forget the app "Gaspy" for buying petrol. It will show you the very best price wherever you are. Was so funny that someone stopped to tell you about the price of fuel :)
@@Becca.Loveless cool. Take a couple of days to do round trip. I'm in Whangarei and love our Tutukaka coast and Whangarei heads. So.many places to go. Quarry gardens is nice. Love that you enjoy the simple things in life that nature offers.
Up through the Kauri forest, visit Tani Mahuta, then up and around into the Hokianga for a good feed at the Opononi pub or the cafe, and a walk on the beach. There are really nice hot pools just out of Kaikohe, stop for a soak before heading over to Kawakawa, Pahlia and Waitangi. I avoid Kerikeri, as much as possible- so much traffic there you might as well be in Auckland
Just found this post and loved watching you taking in the joys of the Coromandel Peninsula. My family have been extremely fortunate to have a family bach at Cooks Beach ( next to Hot Water Beach). My grandkids are the 4th generation to have holidays there. If you didn't visit Cooks, try and make it next time. It's a really safe beach and has some interesting history attached as the name suggests.
Kauri trees are something special to us. Most were milled long ago so really trying to look after what's left. Some even made its way to San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake and fire.
They're so beautiful. I swear you can feel the spirit of the tree when you're up next to them. They've lived through so much, and provide so much life. They really are beautiful.

Part of The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe and the sequel were mostly filmed in New Zealand. In the second movie when they go back to Narnia and arrive on a beach that's Cathedral Cove. That bird was a fantail. When we play golf at Maramarua which you probably drove by on the way to Coro fantails follow us around cause sometimes our steps will make bugs fly out of the grass and the fantails swoop in.
That sounds like heaven! I wanted to watch that fantail all day. The birds here are so beautiful. And now I want to watch the Narnia movies again. Haven't seen them in a very long time.
