I clearly remember that I and my friend saw a guy who was playing DDR surrounded by a lot of audience at an arcade in 1999 when I was a elementary school student. After that I begged my father to buy DDR 2nd Remix for PS1, and then I spent a lot of our time playing it with my friend. It's my childhood...
My local arcade closed. It had DDR Extreme and many awesome arcades like Guilty Gear AC, SF3, Sega's star wars games, Galaga, Pacman and many more. One of the few memories I have is dancing this song filmed on video getting a B, but it is ok since I still had fun. Too bad those machines won't be back. :(
