I'm not able to work. Let me amend that point. Well my issue was that I was young, in university, I was working a full time job, and on top of it I couldn't afford the pill. Long story short I had no transportation of my own and the closest abortion clinic was 500 and something miles way. So I took responsibility for my actions and continued to work till I couldn't. I don't want to sound offensive, because I care less what people do with their lives and with who they sleep with, but Jenner is the classic case of the same dog but with a different collar, it seems that she didn't learn nothing how her nice conservatives friends treat her when she change of genre.
Not really. The Conservative side can use Caitlyn jenner to beat the liberal side with a stick. And I agree with them. This is what happens when you progressive to much that you become potato
Antyrabbyt Meow Yeah, by insulting her in every minute, hell, even when a conservative try to be reasonable, Rush come along and beat him with a stick, sorry, but intelligent conservatives are dying race, and there is non in this generation of politician, all are all corporatist religious fundamentalist,.You "progressive to much"? Both of you are forgetting its even harder to get a job that pays the same as cis people when you're transitioning employers know you need the job and will be more desperate for it due to the difficulty of finding one they take into account how many people will just outright refuse to hire
4ButtonSoul Outside of transgender issues which directly affect her, what liberal positions does Caitlyn hold? None that I can see. Yet you wonder why liberals are not impressed with this self-absorbed non-empathetic person?
***** That's not my point, there is no minimum requirement but to be considered liberal, you should probably share progressive views on at least a few major issues (climate change, gay and women rights, social programs, economics, foreign policy etc.). My point was Caitlyn seem to lack empathy which probably explains why she probably has no other "liberal" views outside trans issues that don't directly benefit her. Do you disagree with this?
***** Given those are pretty big issues that are fanatically rejected by the GOP, I'm surprised she doesn't consider herself an independent then. Or maybe she has no idea what a "conservative" is. I guessing she identifies as a republican because she doesn't want to pay taxes to help fund infrastructure, social programs etc.
The fifteen dollar minimum wage is ridiculous (he mentions this later in the video). Many minimum wage jobs would cease to exist. My job would cease to exist. The fact is, unskilled labour is not worth fifteen dollars an hour. Please don't think of me as some poor hating person, I'm just looking at this from an economic standpoint.
actually was she said was true. I work in a homeless center and I see people DAILY who make more by staying on welfare, getting section 8 housing, getting food stamps, getting cash benefits on food stamps, getting wic, free monthly bus passes etc. that if they went to work making minimum wage, they would then have to pay full rent, buy their own food, lose the cash benefits, have to pay for their own day care and transportation, and basically, be way better off by NOT working. And, they know this and I hear daily, " I make more by not working, so why would I go to work". I'm on the front line of the homeless situation. it is getting to the point where people do not want to work.
It depends what state you live in. California forces welfare to work programs for the poor with part time but the children need child care. I think that the public schools need from early at 8am until 6pm in evening so kids would not go out do crimes out on the streets.
This is coming from someone who grew up on government assistance. My mother had foodstamps, we had medicaid, etc. And with those social benefits it became in some ways even harder to escape them. When you are given things and certain benefits it makes it less necessary for you to pull away from those helping institutions. Now, this doesn't mean that those in poverty don't deserve it, but many times those in poverty don't attempt to leave poverty, but merely end up perpetually wallowing at the bottom of that safety net. Social problems are meant to keep minorities in place, that is a simple truth. Minorities DO need these programs, but their needs to be more than just food stamps, and welfare. We need to push things like Job Corps (and eliminate the age limit.) We need to make public college/community college tuition free. We need to create a system where it becomes possible to LEAVE the use of government welfare behind.
whenever I tell someone I am currently unemployed I always hear that either they are also unemployed or a friend/relative of them is unemployed. I also hear that it's mostly because it's so incredibly difficult to find work (in this economy). the problem stems from the fact companies aren't hiring (enough) or when a company does hire they do contracts that need to be renewed every year but after 3 times in my country renewal means steady employ (employ for unlimited duration) so they won't renew or workers are employed via temp agencies allowing companies to tell them they don't need to show up tomorrow. companies actively try to have no obligations to their workers even if it means overpaying for that labor by hiring via temp agencies. at the same time they expect their workers to be loyal to their employers. this creates a system that makes it nearly impossible for the common (wo)man to have any kind of income security. and we're still wondering how it can be that the average person still feels like were in a deep economic depression while wall street says to them it's already over? my experience is that people want to work usually even more so the they are unemployed and on welfare. If an earnest job offer is made 99.9% of the unemployed will take it. people don't take welfare because they are lazy but because they have to. anything else is a lie.
I'm gay and living in Oklahoma, have my whole life. My parents physically and verbally abused me my entire life because they always knew deep down that I was gay (like most parents do) and they were devout Southern Baptists. When I was 17, a junior in high school, they forced me into a corner (literally) and manipulated me into finally coming out to them. Eventually my brother punched me in the ear and punctured my ear drum, and my family worked together to throw everything I owned in a pile in the backyard. They almost seemed happy to do so and it haunts me to this day. From there I lived with various friends and distant relatives until I finally graduated from high school with honors and went to the biggest university in my state and lived on campus in the dorms. This was when I stopped being homeless. I had no driver license, no car, nothing but the few items I just so happened to rescue from the trash pile in the yard. I'm doing okay now, have my own apartment, have been working full time since I was 17, have my own car, and I also go to school full time. I'm still constantly afraid of being homeless again because I lived in a car at one point, and sometimes I come close to not making the rent because something happens like a medical bill or a speeding ticket. And guess what? I'm still so poor that I require SNAP benefits ("food stamps") because no employer that pays well will hire a student because of their busy schedule. I'm not trans, but I'm LGBTQ, and Caitlyn Jenner I hope karma hits you like a fucking freight train. How dare you, you privileged, pampered, ignorant, greedy piece of shit. I WORK MY ASS OFF and I still need some state assistance. You don't even know what it's like to work. You don't KNOW what it's like to struggle in this country financially because of your sexual orientation. YOU are the lazy one who inherited your millions from your family. Have several seats Caitlyn Jenner. SEVERAL seats.
I've known a lot of people who were on food stamps. For the most part, you have to already have a job to be on food stamps. So it's so dumb how people say that people on food stamps are lazy or whatever.
I'd have to agree with Caitlyn in some aspects. I have witnessed many of times with family and friends who do the bare minimum because they get government assistance, change their jobs every few months because it's "hard work", CHOOSE to get paid the minimum wage when they are fully capable of working for more but CHOOSE to work a leisure job, or having unsafe sex and having babies instead of working on getting their GED. I worked at 18 and moved out on my own working for not much and survived just fine, my mother was a single mom and NEVER asked for help and assistance and we did just fine so yes, I can see where Caitlyn is coming from.
Unfortunately, Caitlyn has a point. My 59 year-old mother lives solely off of SSI, which is $698 a month. Out of that, she pays about $450 a month in rent, and the rest of the money, she budgets on gas and food (she also gets food stamps). She is scared to get a job because she's worried that she'll get less SSI and food stamps. Basically, if she were to get a job, she'd be getting diminishing marginal returns. That is the mentality of poor people. I think what Caitlyn fails to realize is that there's a huge amount of turnaround on welfare. Most people don't stay on it longer than two months.
***** Did you not even read my whole comment? I would also like to add, my mom is basically trapped where she is. Not just her, but also my autistic sister. These social betterment programs often trap the people they are supposed to be helping by penalizing them if they make anything extra and diminishing the marginal utility so that it's not even worth it to have a job.
I watched this yesterday for the first time. Later in the day it dawned on me. His first wife supported him while he trained every day for the 1976 Olympics in Montreal. While training he worked part time at night selling insurance. Caitlyn is a fucking hypocrite and I have no respect for "it." After the Olympics he became a wealthy celebrity then shortly thereafter divorced his wife like he didn't need her anymore. Bruce was and as Caitlyn is a weasel.
something that is never talked about very much is the amount of people who would qualify for government assistance but choose not to take it out of pride. I would bet that number is higher than the amount of fraud
I feel the same way when black churches are anti-gay. Ud think people that have been the victim of prejudice historically would in turn be more open minded
For anybody who is anti government social programs, let's imagine a country like that. No social security, food stamps, healthcare for Medicaid, no fda, no public schools, no social safety net.... It would be adisaster. Those programs don't make people lazy
My fiance and I have been together for 9 1/2 years we had a kid in high school and since we weren't married and living together the daycare at the school wouldn't take my child unless my fiance put me on child support. We now live together needless to say but the system is so fucked since my child's on Medicaid I still have to pay child support. All jobs I had never offered health insurance so she stayed on Medicaid. Well skip to now. My fiance has been working where we live for a while and we get a discount on our apt. When summer hit I left my job because the hours weren't steady and I only made about 850 a month. Subtract 200 a month for child support then subtract taxes. I would have literally been working just to keep my kids in daycare. With my finances taxes and everything being deducted from her checks we barely survive. We need food stamps and Medicaid. Our system is fucked.
Salacity "Atheist extremists" are annoying at worst. At least they don't slaughter people who disagree with them or try to use their (lack of) beliefs to discriminate against others.
Let's review Bruce's life: -Publicly said he wanted to have his daughter aborted -Cheated on multiple wives several times -Supported the Iraq war -Has a daughter that has dated a 25 year old father who isn't exactly the best of examples -Left his own family for Kris Jenner's and then started another family. -Got his current reality show job aswell as his family from Kim Kardashians ass -KILLED SOMEONE PRIOR TO COMING OUT -Gets money from his condition. (No I'm not transpobic)
If the welfare people receive end up creating dependency and laziness... then why do people who accumulate enough wealth to last them for the rest of their lives continue to work to accumulate more wealth? And if it is true, why do most of the northern European countries not have a problem with poverty, chronic dependence on welfare, slums, etc. They provide way more benefits to its citizens than the USA does in terms of healthcare, vacation, paid holidays, child care benefits, free education, etc.
What I find when you raise the minimum wage is that the business owners that are struggling have to bring in more money to pay the people working there. This leads to less money in other important areas. There then becomes two options, either close your business and have everyone who works there to find another job, or lay off people. Either way this will cause the loss of jobs. Now for more successful businesses, this is merely an annoyance, but for the struggling, this is death.
So because she has "liberal" views on LGBT rights that means she has to be liberal on everything? Wtf? She's allowed to believe in gay rights and also think welfare is destructive. This video is proof positive that liberals think in group think and believe it's a good idea.
I'm poor, I have a iPhone and and a tablet. I have the Internet and a roof over my head, but I will probably never own a home or be able to retire. I have a full time job and a auto parts store I work extremely hard everyday picking up odd jobs as much as I can. Being poor today is not the same as being poor on the early 1900s.i will work my whole life and maybe one day I will have something but it will come at the great expense of my mental and physical health. I will never be able to afford children which hurts me deeply. That worst part is I'm super intelligent I'm self taught in politics, science, not so good in English lol, but I have even taught myself simple computer code. I also have a associates in business that does absolutely nothing for me which I got going to night classes while working full time, that almost killed me. For people like me life sucks and then you die.
I find the same hypocrisy with the Log Cabin republicans & the former GoProud (since disbanded by it's founders). It pisses me off too because I have been in conversations with them that went something like this "oh, on gay rights the GOP is so wrong but that is about the only issue they are wrong on". Yeah, go figure.
Yeah poor people are lazy. They work sixty hours a week and still can't afford a decent home and to feed their children? Erm....they should...uh, get a job! Nailed it.
I don't understand what exactly she said wrong at all! She acknowlages social programs are a good thing (which they are), when you need help. Of course "Becoming dependant on social programs" isn't right. Of course it's great that they're there when you need them, but there is a huge problem when people become dependant on programs and overstay there welcome. If you've fallen down, Yes, get help!! Social programs are a great tool for this! But you can't live on them for the rest of your life, you have to be your own person and embrace who YOU are instead of what the government hands out to you. That makes more sense in the LGBT community than pretending that it's okay if people become dependant on the government. It doesn't matter if you're straight, gay, bi, transgender, it is wrong to become DEPENDANT on social programs. Use them when you need them, stop and help others (via taxes) when you don't. And for him saying how Caitlyn was only liberal when she "wants to be"... she isn't... She said shes conservatie, and isn't liberal at all (when we're talking about politics) His conclusion that somehow being transgender is associated with being liberal in any way is absurd! LGBT is about who you are as a person and inside and shouldn't be compared to any sort of politics. He's trying to say all transgender people have to be liberal!?!?!?! NO. It's pathetic that you would pick on her and make absurd comparisions about because she is transgender it is wrong that she does not agree with liberal politics. Transgender is NOT a liberal political issue. While yes, it's more likely for a liberal to be in support of transgender persons than a conservative, it's not a political issue.
Actually, I can see this issue being a very prevalent problem in the future for politics. That is, politicians who seem to be liberal, but are only liberal for themselves and really are conservative.
What Jenner said wasn't even that bad, this guy is totally overblowing it. All that was said is you don't want people too dependent on social programs, not that they should be completely dissolved. It's a view slightly more right than where we are now, not that radical
I see Caitlyn's point: all you have to do to be rich in America is be a freak of nature (like an Olympic decathlon winner) who was once married to a circus clown act, ensuring the cameras are running the whole time. What up, poor people? Minimum wage jobs are for kids. The problem is that most of the middle-class jobs that allowed the middle class to exist have disappeared. Yet even if these jobs were to reappear, the mentally beaten and broken unemployed and homeless won't be fixed.
Its funny because I was saying this when they first were talking about giving her the Arthur Ash Courage award. I actually made a video about it and how everyday transgender women who face a barrage of obstacle's and struggle's in there lives and are bashed, harassed, and murdered for being transgender are the real hero's. They are the people who are so strong in there convictions about there gender identity and how they feel and take great risk's and face many danger's and prejudices in society, the work field, and there daily live's. Many can not afford there gender confirming surgeries and medical care to receive necessary Hormone's and treatment for there transition, CaitLynn Jenner makes a announcement to the world she is transgender and in less then year does a complete 360,does all her facial surgery's,breast implants and receives all her medical care and hormones from the best doctors and then graces the cover of Vanity Fair as a hero and a amazing role model for the Transgender community by driving around in her Porsche, wearing fashionable clothe's given to her by designer's ,gets another t.v. show and continue's to live high on the hog in the hills of Malibu in some false reality of life, while dogging out everyday people for needing govt. asst and social programs to help them and there family's get by. I'm not sure why she is a hero ,other then being formerly Bruce Jenner a Gold medal Olympian and member of the Kardashian family who make a living off of doing reality show's for everything they do,including farting.
who forgot she was a republican? not me. she was never the right way for america to be introduced io transgender people. she really has nothing in common with the average trans person... rich and part of a powerful family. its like ow renly in game of thrones was considered an abomination, but he's a fucking baratheon. what can you really say?
Its weird how much grownups can just be large old babies. The simple story presented by Cate ' transsexuality has been a powerful teaching moment for many. But the slightly more complex story when her attitudes unconnected to her issue are recognized is clearly too difficult for people to learn from because you can't summarize it in glossy magazines and late show one-liners. It would be to the benefit of every human to understand a little more psychology, but it's not going to happen.
i knew a lesbian who was like this, i too was shocked when she said that welfare recipents were no good!! she wanted equal rights for her but not for anyone else that is for sure!! just because someone has an issue doesn't mean they are sensitive to other's plight.
What she said IS, however, true in a way. People do have more money by staying home and collecting welfare if they have small children who need daycare. Once you work a minimum wage job and then pay daycare for the time you are at work, you've got nothing left! So, single mothers especially know this to be true, and I'm sure they account for the majority of people who stay on the system for a long time. Eventually, some women start having children just to continue their benefits because they couldn't possibly support a family with a minimum wage job. We need a better minimum wage AND free daycare!
I'm sorry but i work in private business with people, and know and talk with others that work in the court system who are exposed on a daily basis to the harshest realities of poverty. i cannot meet with this fellow's view of the situation. i don't think that Mr/Ms. Jenner is a champion of human rights or equality, but she may be on to something here. i agree that she may be callus to the situation, and perhaps so am i, but i cannot be dissuaded that the United States is full of those that are satisfied with whatever they can get with the least amount of work. if Government assistance keeps them from starving, that is what they will choose, regardless of what they could achieve through work.
A person working, no matter the job, should make a living wage so that a social safety net is not required. We still need a system for those that can not work. But, raising the minimum wage would be a very good start.
Most people are only (R) or (D) when it best suits them, and this is nothing new. people that stick to only one parties view points are part of the whole problem with politics. Those people tend to go down with the ship regardless if the issues are right or wrong.
But you can have a mixture of views being on either side of the political lines. Megan mccain supports a lot of what some may consider D but a lot of D don't want equality for lgbt persons which are R talking points. So are we not allowed to have static views ?
you can have any views you like, both parties have good talking points on various topics. It is the people on both sides that are die hard and refuse to listen to anything outside of their party.
lowratehitman there is a HUGE dif between R's and D's bro - and falsely equivocating the 2 political partys is a fall back tactic of the right wing republikkkans -who are counting on your lack of intelligence. Do some research before you just spout crap you heard your daddy say.
***** you are spouting yourself, as I stated, both sides have different talking points that EVERYONE can relate to.You are creating a negative out of something I stated which was not negative to begin with.
Says that people need to get jobs while all she does is exists and she gets payed.

no--NO. To Caitlyn Jenner being a spokesperson for anyone other than Caitlyn Jenner.
Typical conservative, they only care about the issues that personally affect them. That's why she is liberal when it comes to Transgender issues.
This person has a long (and until now, mostly unknown) history of saying wacky, anti human crap. Welcome to the 21st century, jackass.

My point was Caitlyn seem to lack empathy which probably explains why she probably has no other "liberal" views outside trans issues that don't directly benefit her. Do you disagree with this?
***** Not sure if that's the case, but regardless, she still sure seems to lack empathy.
Didn't Cait take her kids to a homeless shelter to show the damn kids how good they have it?
Yup I remember that
The fifteen dollar minimum wage is ridiculous (he mentions this later in the video).
God damn it Caitlyn, just when I thought there was someone who's like me that I can look up to...
How oblivious were you?
Too oblivious unfortunately...
I'd never look up to this person, even if I was a so called transgender.
This was an incredible video, excellent work and thank you.
Damn Kyle destroyed Cait...
james patterson *Bruce
Trollzy No, IT!
Trollzy *Cait
The joke is on us. It seems we are OK and even respect who he WANTS TO BE... But we roll our eyes at who he REALLY IS.
Great commentary Kyle
"We already knew she was ignorant because she said she was more conservative"
Ummmmm ok
Why has everyone made that clown famous? Nobody cares what he or she thinks.
The extreme upper-class can't relate to poor people. This is news?!
...while the rest of us are concerned about Caitlyn Jenner's mental health.
Does anyone really care about what Caitlyn says? I don't.. What a waste of a story, IMO..
I can't believe IT is still out there.
whenever I tell someone I am currently unemployed I always hear that either they are also unemployed or a friend/relative of them is unemployed.
Right, like she and her family are in the position they are in because of hard work and merit.
not all democrats are liberal , not all republicans are conservative and vice a versa.
Kyle that was clear and articulate.
you made awesome points....I love it!
I've known a lot of people who were on food stamps. For the most part, you have to already have a job to be on food stamps. So it's so dumb how people say that people on food stamps are lazy or whatever.
I like your idea of "coming out... as poor" and I'd be willing to submit a short video explaining my situation as a homeless vet
When someone *has* to say "someone has a right to think something", I usually equate that with "someone has no good reason to think something".
Lack of empathy seems to be common for many Conservatives.
Jenner should be more concerned about traffic laws
Its foolish to think you can confine all people to two major mindsets or parties.
*HE'S WAY TOO OLD TO PLAY DRESS UP...lol
I totally agree with you!
FYI -- You can show any clip you want as long as it's for criticism, education, or satire purposes. At least that's how it works in the US.
People make more on social security than on an entry level job perhaps, but ONLY BECAUSE JOBS DON'T PAY ENOUGH.
So much for being a "hero".
Good point!
I feel the same way when black churches are anti-gay. Ud think people that have been the victim of prejudice historically would in turn be more open minded
Brennan Ingram That's because religion is engrained in their culture, That's part of the problem.
Lee Daniels It's not religion, it's Christianity. Plenty of religions aren't homophobic.
Then why is it Christianity because plenty of religions are homophobic.
Jaren C Christianity, Islam, maybe Judaism... Can you name any others?
Marie Lemieux
Buddhism for example.
I love how Kyle keeps referring to Bruce as a she.
couldn't have said it better myself
For anybody who is anti government social programs, let's imagine a country like that. No social security, food stamps, healthcare for Medicaid, no fda, no public schools, no social safety net.... It would be adisaster. Those programs don't make people lazy
You all are forgetting!!! This lady is RICH!!
Caitlyn needs to see this video.
I don't understan how she can be a conservative when most conservatives hate here, like being a black KKK member
Who said Caitlyn was liberal? You all just championed her for a liberal cause and assumed she was liberal without actually looking into her views.
***** Many people don't realize many LGBT folks are conservative.
Salacity You're right. Conservatives just bow and present their willing buttholes to corporations and the religious extremist portion of their base.
Salacity
Extremists are extremists. I don't care what religion they believe in.
Salacity
"Atheist extremists" are annoying at worst. At least they don't slaughter people who disagree with them or try to use their (lack of) beliefs to discriminate against others.
Let's review Bruce's life:
-Publicly said he wanted to have his daughter aborted
-Cheated on multiple wives several times
-Supported the Iraq war
-Has a daughter that has dated a 25 year old father who isn't exactly the best of examples
-Left his own family for Kris Jenner's and then started another family.
-Got his current reality show job aswell as his family from Kim Kardashians ass
-KILLED SOMEONE PRIOR TO COMING OUT
-Gets money from his condition.
This guy is brilliant.
Caitlyn Jenner's misinformed comments are starting to give me a head ache.
And people defend this monstrosity and defend him, her, or whatever it is? And call it "courageous". What the fuck.
Society has went to hell a loooong time ago.
What I find when you raise the minimum wage is that the business owners that are struggling have to bring in more money to pay the people working there. This leads to less money in other important areas. There then becomes two options, either close your business and have everyone who works there to find another job, or lay off people. Either way this will cause the loss of jobs. Now for more successful businesses, this is merely an annoyance, but for the struggling, this is death.
are you trying to make the argument that NOBODY is abusing the system?
Wow, lost a good bit of respect right quick for her with this one.
WTF has Caitlyn been doing since 1976? Sponging off the Kardashian clan?
So because she has "liberal" views on LGBT rights that means she has to be liberal on everything? Wtf? She's allowed to believe in gay rights and also think welfare is destructive. This video is proof positive that liberals think in group think and believe it's a good idea.
"You shouldn't only be liberal when it's convenient for you". Couldn't agree more.
Well she isn't wrong. You can't just give people money without getting them to work aswell. Otherwise they become too dependent.
Caithlin Jenner doesn't know anything about the struggle of poor people.
Thanks for the support when I needed you. Peace out, bitches. Time to protect my money.
~ Caitlyn Jenner, 2015
She is such a great face for transgenders. Love this lady! Girl power!
He regrets the transition, lol.
And I thought the daily fashion updates were working my nerves.
She said shes conservatie, and isn't liberal at all (when we're talking about politics)
His conclusion that somehow being transgender is associated with being liberal in any way is absurd!
Most of the working class can't even qualify for these programs which we could really use . It's mostly children and elderly are on these programs.
Stop it Bruce.
Being transgender is not synonymous with being a tolerant and generally good person
who forgot she was a republican? not me. she was never the right way for america to be introduced io transgender people. she really has nothing in common with the average trans person... rich and part of a powerful family. its like ow renly in game of thrones was considered an abomination, but he's a fucking baratheon. what can you really say?
If you're going to try and play reporter then you should learn the fair use part of the copyright law. Then you could have used a small clip.
***** you are spouting yourself, as I stated, both sides have different talking points that EVERYONE can relate to.You are creating a negative out of something I stated which was not negative to begin with.
lowratehitman then gimme one good republikkkan "talking point" smart guy.
I'm Poor and I'm Proud!
