    Thank you Darius for this lovely review. It’s an absolute honour.
    For the availability question - we do ship to most countries including the UK. If one can’t find their country in shipping options, please drop us a note and will try our best to sort it out.

    Hello there 😀
    I'm so glad to hear your thoughts about creed Absolu Aventus which I reviewed previously & I shared the same opinion on as you! It's just the cousin of Ssuvage elexir 👎 Aventus is the cash machine for the Kering group! Just a worthless release by Creed 👎 happy Holidays mate ☃️🎄🤗 Cheers 🥂😀
    My favorite fragrance from Creed is Tabarome👌

    I think it’s a shame you have this take on it. It’s very snobbish. My fragrance wardrobe is stack full of niche and indie and I’ve been sniffing the whole of my life and we have so many frag loves in Common. However, my husband wears vibrant leather (Zara dupe and obvs there’s no way I’d pay aventus orice)amongst everything else I give him including wonderful stuff like knize ten which he also loves- and he smells fantastic. I think somehow the stuck up opinion is because the masses love aventus somehow it’s shit. It isn’t shit!
    I wear creed Vanisia and it’s amazing. Creed isn’t bad! It’s just popular!

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Rachel, thanks very much for taking the time to write. I’m not sure what I can say to convince you, but it’s honestly not the popularity that’s the issue for me. There are lots and lots of popular perfumes that I love, including the one that happens to be the most popular of all time. I’ve been unimpressed by Aventus since long before it became popular: I disliked it when I first smelt it back in 2010/11.
      Thank goodness we all have different tastes and preferences. Bottom line: if someone loves a scent, they should keep wearing it.

    Me too! I've never watched a single episode of 'Strictly...'. I cannot express how much I hate that shit, and I would expect to feel the same way about this new 'celebrity' perfume; similar, I guess, to how I feel about 'Aventus' - with utter repulsion.

    Oh dear - Yikes! (re the Creed). Am curious about the Gucci range. On an unrelated note, I just got Apres L'ondee. It's lovely but fleeting. But lovely. Didn't have luck with Nahema sadly. I had tried the extrait and loved it. But seem to be anosmic to the EDP. It's all baby powder. Sad...cos I so wanted to love it.

      You don't realise what you're saying. Ambroxan is not a dry amber, it is nature identical to a molecule found in ambergris, just like Ambrinol as well. I am quite certain the amber you rightfully detest is Amber Xtreme which does not smell at all of ambergris nor a labdanum type amber.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@algebraist1997 You're right. Apologies! If, during the video, I equated Ambroxan with aggressive, woody ambers, then that was a mistake. It doesn't have the same profile at all. However, there are plenty of people who would say it doesn't share many features with ambergris, but perhaps we can leave that debate for another day.

      @@algebraist1997 I realise exactly what I Don’t like about Ambroxan. And I also know that I don’t like most ambergris. It makes me gag. I tried Tauer’s Desert Moroccan again recently to refamiliarize myself and ugh, gag. I can’t even wear Jubilation, Overture or Dia because the ambroxan in those formulas scream out on my skin and it is a rancid sickly sweet smell on me. I gag when people walk by me and have Sauvage or Baccarat on because it makes me nauseous.

    Good on you for recommending Timbuktu - such a wonderful, one of a kind can't-go-wrong perfumes. If I remember correctly that's what started me on my crazy perfume journey. Uhm, Australian grown agarwood - is that really a thing or a mythical, feel-good story? Never heard of that before and raises so many questions such as what is it's scent profile, what species is it and where is it grown, etc. Video is just as important as audio - got to see what you're wearing (no pressure :)) and the perfume bottles.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If they’ve actually specified that it’s grown there, then it must be. How much of it they’ve used in the scent is another question.

    I'm not sure what it is with Goldfield and Banks, but the whole line gives me instant headaches. The same goes for Montale / Mancera and PDM. I wonder if it's some sort of amber wood aroma chemical that I don't tolerate.

    I love Aventus, I have since its initial release before it became popular. With that said I have collected for many years and have tried tons of niche and designer and Aventus is one of my favorites. I do not gravitate towards generic mass appealing scents either and to my nose Aventus as a scent doesnt fall in the generic catagory.
    Its interesting how people interpret a scent, for example I saw your review of Tom Ford Soleil Brulant and you enjoyed it. It was one of the worst perfume I have ever smelled.

    To me, rather than overtly displaying masculinity in a superior way, Aventus markets a fake and counterfeit form of masculinity. It's trying to hard, and just smells fake to me. When I think of masculine scents I like to start with Kouros or Antaeus, Stetson or Old Spice, or any of the Eau Sauvage line. Aventus is for young guys that want to feel older...but are a bit lost without a true role model, and don't really know what it means to be a man yet.

    • @Persolaise
      @Persolaise  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s an extremely interesting way of looking at it. And I agree that the ‘fakeness’ evident in Aventus is entirely absent from Kouros et al.

    I love your videos! I did not realize how much I enjoy perfume until recently. I am learning as I go and have a question for you. When I first put some perfumes on they smell like motor oil to me. It eventually goes away in the dry down. Any idea what that could be? The perfumes that this happens with all seem to have different notes. Thank you in advance.

      I think it’s the initial evaporation of ethanol (and in some cases other solvents) you’re experiencing. For any ethanol based fragrances (EDP, edt, cologne etc), give it 2-5 minutes before you try to smell. Or wave the strip in air for a bit before sniffing. Also, another thing people do wrong with smelling is putting things too close to nose. Hope this helps. Happy smelling :)
