I used to work for MWD. We'd have the road to ourselves during times like these, driving our work van on the dirt road. Talk about a job plus. Note: we stayed on road and trail.

The scenery just makes me want to rent a car here in Southwest Florida and drive all the way out there just to see the beauty. I wonder how much longer it's going to last maybe the first or second week of May?

The absolutely only time of year to visit. The rest of the time it's dry, barren with no shade, whatsoever. CVL will also charge you to hike the path around it. I live nearby, and all around us were hills covered in poppies. Miles and miles of them. Enjoy!

"See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these." Matthew 6:28
