    i need to try this since mine is leaking like crazy too, and hopefully in the same place...seems like i tried everything about now, but still havent bought new rubber and made a new gasket like this..tried with the o-ring but no luck there
    thanks for the tip and hopefully i will get it fixed this time!

      Hi, O -ring didnt work probably was wrong type of rubber, keep in mind that you need "viton" rubber thats is petrol resistant. +check nuts that are bedded in tank. Good luck :)

    I have a duke 690 2013 and my tank is deformed and now water can go inside. A new tank cost 1200€. Do you think i can fix it with a thicker poetry?

    You could cut a small piece out of the O-ring and superglue it. Better to keep the O-ring than discard it.

    This didn't work for me. Should I remove the o-ring and only use the 1.5mm viton patch?

      Tried this in several different ways. Some works better then others, but none works perfect. Stock with only o-ring worked best before trying this.

      hey, with oem o ring didnt work for me either, just viton patch stops leak

      I had the exact same problem every time I would do a wheelie gas would just gush out ridiculous. The problem is the actual gas cap if you look at the gas cap there's a Rubber seal about 1/8 inch gap between the rubber in the outer plastic you have to seal that up. I will make a video soon to show what I did it has worked for me.

    No work sadly I tried and seems impossible, even putting extra things into the cap as gasoil gloves (patch)....Horrible ktm....

    It's messed up you have to do all of that....ktm engineers should have taken care of it. Especially since it's a premium priced bike.

      +You Toober newer model have no issues as caps were changed. and 2008 is very first new SMC model with tank as subframe so it takes good while to find future problems. same as what happened with new R1 now all of them are recalled

    What a great video. Where can I get those viton patches from?? Cuz not much else holds up against petroleum.. Need to do this on mine..

    You didn't need to even use an anaerobic gasket sealant, right?

    • @Adkiz69
      @Adkiz69  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi there, no sealant or anything, just Viton rubber, which you can buy on ebay ;)

    • @Adkiz69
      @Adkiz69  7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you think 1mm would be better?

    • @Adkiz69
      @Adkiz69  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      skaiosgr Dont know if it would be better or worse, I got 1,5mm cuz seller didnt have thinner patch.I think 1mm or 2mm would work anyway.
