In the past, this would often be an updated Tom model, but since Adult Swim has taken over, the only change they made in the first Adult Swim Countdown was that the station they were on left the planet and became a spaceship, again. The reason they do these cinematics is to keep Toonami feeling fresh while not interrupting the immersion. If they were on a terrestrial station one week and suddenly in space the next, it would just be confusing. As for this Countdown, I'm assuming either the ship or Sarah herself are going to see a change. Hell, they may even crash on a new planet. Sky's the limit.
Sometimes you forget how powerful toms ships and sera are, I am sure he does use the most to shows us amazing shows. But god damn do they know how to do damage
