Goat Mountain Climb August 2024 - USA 🇺🇸

Started this one at the Goat Mountain TH up Hannegan Pass Road, and followed the trail first to the dog walker's summit, then we cut down into a small gravel slope to access the lower West summit.
After lunch up there, we backtracked to the main trail, cut down a ways, then sidehill traversed across the south slopes of Goat Mtn to access a gully system that led us up to the higher main summit. Minor scrambling on rock and heather/ duff got us to the main summit. Then we backtracked and returned to the main trail and hiked back out.
It was a good day out, and this isn't a technical climb unless you choose to make it one, but if you go for this peak, do it on a dry day. It was pretty miserable slipping and slogging through wet brush and duff.
