No problem. I think I know where your coming from. I try to use my classics every day, when they work! I prefer to see some of the custom folk customize rather than leaving them rusting in a barn, outside etc. I also a mate of mine has worked some blokes Triumph 2000 Mk1, that was in very good condition, and has been restored on the outside, but is a complete shed inside. All I can say, thank god he did not buy either of the Humbers I used to own. So, I guess I rather see cars being used. Cheers
A '65 Humber Series 5 Super Snipe, '67 Bond Equipe 2 litre Mk1, '61 Wolesley 1500, this one is a bit of a shed, I was thinking of making into a 2 door coupé, but a friend of mine said the DVLA will have to inspect it, so it would be more bother then it's worth, pity, quite like the thought of doing something a bit off the wall! Whilst my wife has a proper '88 Mini and '91 Nissan Figaro, so, a rather strange selection of cars. What have you got, classic wise?
can one of the racers answer some questions for me that I've always wondered about? What are the rules regarding: crashing into the drivers door, hitting a stationary car with someone in it? During a pile up, when and how do you decide when to jump out of the car? With all the smoke are you safer in the car or running across the track? What's the rules regarding doing a 180 turn and heading into on coming traffic? Cheers
Hi Warlords Thanks for answering my questions. Hope you'll consider taking any useful/restorable bits off that Gazelle before it gets destroyed though (yes I'm a classic car enthusiast and owner, but it never stopped me going to Swaffham every Sunday when I lived in Kings Lynn) is the Gazelle totally rotten or quite decent condition? Good luck in your race/s.
Rover, Daimler, Jaguar and Hillman. Lovely cars. Wreck & crush them? Whats in the brittish tea nowadays? You guys can't be the brightest candles around... Here I am in Sweden desperately restoring fragments of mere Anglias...
I agree we should banger Mondeos and suchlike but I imagine they are only good for one hit then they fold up - thin metal and too much plastic. A lot of strength in a modern car comes from its bonded windscreen and bangers have their glass removed. And modern cars tend to have too many electronic parts and sensors to work around.
@markwsweden hahaha 9 out of 10 of them are past help to get past there mots/ made safe to drive..... Or if you cant sell it on for more money wreck it!!
Why are you doing this! What a waste of classic cars! Unless they were unreperable, you all should sell them onto someone or break them for other classic car owners.
love it! havent been to hednesford raceway for a few years. love the banger racing.
Thank you for that! How nice to hear from you.
beautiful vid, thanks for posting

They do this all the time in the midwestern U.S. just with bigger cars lol
I can only cringe with watching this! Had many of those things been saved and restored, it would have been a case of "name your price"!!!

A complete waste of a lot of 'old gold'...
Destroy a classic is not fun.
