got any advice for talking a crane company into doing trees? all but 2 companies here are scared of them from past experiences, the only company that I work with uses a 30 ton, the other company has a 50 or 55 ton liebherr but some other tree company told them some BS and now I cant work with them
what im told is "we dont like trees because our LMI cable" and "tree guys like you overload our cranes"
can ask my current crane operator about that, never been an issue but someone had to ruin it for the rest of us I guess, id be willing to bet its one company here that ran through all the crane companies scaring them off one at a time
Jeesh honestly that's tricky....I mean I'd record some videos of picks you have made or what not to show you know what you are doing to whoever you need to at the company....there are a few companies in NH here that say the same thing ... Tree work with cranes isn't for everyone...I'm definitely willing to bet some company just used and abused some companies till they had enough and ruined it for everyone else...luckily I work with really good companies...we have built up some solid trust in each other 👍 this climber here is the first climber I ever worked with and a great friend. Gotta have that rapport
@CraneGer if you look at my channel there is a short of a really nice pick, I got some video from in the tree of some nice ones as well, I just gotta make a new account so they can't look at my inverted pick that one time, or some of my sketchy stuff all due to not having a big enough crane

@@WoodCutr1 have a small crane is tough but honestly I think it's best people start there to REALLY get the skills and learn the weights...makes moving up to larger like I have done a breeze
@@CraneGer21 yeah, only issue, its a manitex 30102WL, rear mount 102' 30 ton, with the wrong winch, can only lift 3500# on a single line pull and half the time my picks have to be under 1 ton because his chart is so small, or the boom tip is in the tree, having an extra 50-70ft of boom and keeping it out of the tree would eliminate 100% of the issues that the crane companies tell me they have
I guess I will just call around and explain that ive done this once or twice and never broke an LMI cable or go past 70% unless its a static pick from the ground
What's the ticking noise in the background when you release to let the pine top down ?
That is the sound of the winch letting me know it's moving and the speed...the slower the clicks the slower I'm running the winch
Im a new crane operator ... when you are operator does the boom sometimes bounce when your picking or lower yourloads????
