Your videos are excellent man. I'm an old used to be college player. Wish we had this kind of instruction. We were inner city kids playing in schoolyards just trying to do what we saw on television.

Great job coach, you are making deposits to these players that they will always remember. Wish that I had had a coach like you. Keep it up

Big facts. I remember the first time I ever experienced pain/soreness from throwing during spring training. I don't remember exactly how old I was, probably like 7-9th grade(possibly freshman year baseball?), but I started throwing with my friend, and ever since we were little and went to a baseball camp we learned to start throwing close together, and then move farther and farther apart(obviously this isn't groundbreaking stuff, but to a 10 year old kid, especially one who pitched and played catcher(and occasionally short stop or 3rd base), it felt like an easy way to increase arm strength.
Anyways, after like 5 pitches my elbow started feeling achy during/after every throw. After like 10 or 15 throws I felt like I may even be hurting/injuring myself, and by the time we got to like 20-30 throws, especially combined with the increasing distance, it was pure agony.
That's the day I truly understood for the first time why warming up and stretching was so important, and that kids bodies are not like teenagers bodies, which aren't like adult bodies, which aren't like middle aged bodies, etc.

It seems that every other Throwing from your knees drill is "glove knee up." Which I assume Is to mimic the correct foot forward when Throwing. Is your version based on using the whole body and developing proper follow through?

Matt, This seems kinda basic, however 9/10 teams do not warm up correctly and these types of videos from guys like you are very much needed. Thanks for sharing and keep this stuff coming!

"If you're playing catch with Marco you gotta expect a bad throw, all the time." lol

Curious, I have a 10 year old will be 11u this fall. He has a good/above average arm. When is the time to start with bands and what band workouts should he be doing. Injury prevention, strength work? Is it to young for weighted balls? He isn't behind just want to make age appropriate work outs. Something to mix in on off days or rainy days.

Hi Matt, i have a friend who plays professional baseball. I help him out to prepare him for the season. He has been playing professional in mexico for 5 years he is a pitcher. Throws 90-92 mph. He is a starting pitcher. We are looking to get an edge by increasing his number of starts.
Do you have a routine or a program that can prepare a pitcher to start 2 times per week. Going at least 7 innings or 100-115 pitches per start. And being able to mantain his velocity thru the 6 month season. Not get injured and not be sore on his pitching games. In order to accumulate 50 starts in the regular season?
Thanks for taking the time to read our question. Waiting for your response thank you.

Just wondering, if a kid isn't throwing straight consistently is it a good idea to yell and scream at the kid?

    Couldn’t listen to a word with the Nike/ua/adidas outfit😂
All jokes aside, a full practice routine would be great for amateur youth coaches
