The Tatum hate is ridiculous. He literally took a step back numbers wise this year to get Porzingis, white, and holiday more involved. He is a true superstar making his team better playing unselfish basketball. Brown is great too, but cannot take games over as consistently as Tatum. It’s a team sport and not fair to put the whole burden on a 26 yo. People talk about not playing a healthy team yet, well they aren’t healthy either, but still getting it done. Brown made the huge 3 yo send it to OT, Tatum took over and had 10. The passing in game 3 towards the end drawing the double team and finding the open man. Tatum does everything that is required of him to win.

tatum is better as a scorer:
you say brown is more consistent? his role is limited to only being a scorer. So you really mean brown has always only ever had to focus on one thing, which is getting a bucket. Even with that, if you want to talk consistency they averages prove Tatum is a better scorer. The difference is when tatum has an off scoring night he doesn't lean into the slump and force shots and chuck up bricks to take away from shots his other teammates can make including brown, which is why he is more efficient scorer, and why he always has better defensive stas, better rebounding stats, and better assist stats, including assist to turnover ratio than brown. Brown has one goal and its to get a bucket, and he will shoot through rough slumps and ball hog and chuck up bad shots and end up taking away good looks from his teammates, tatum doesnt do this even half as much, and when he does he is still getting 6+ assists to repay his teammates for his bad possessions. Basketball is more than gettting a bucket, and thats the only thing we expect brown to do, and even then he still doesnt score as much, or as efficient as jayson tatum. Meanwhile tatum is getting boards, blocks steals and assists at a higher rate as well.

A couple of fallacies in this video. Saying that Ant wasn't getting criticized for his game 1 performance and for saying he was tired. He literally got criticized for it by multiple media personalities. So, the idea that they're making excuses for him is complete fantasy.
Second, saying Tatum would get criticized if he had the late game blunders Ant had in game 2. There's no need for hypotheticals. The big reason Tatum isn't in the top 5 for many people is because he HAS had those late game blunders in the playoffs. Multiple times. The 2022 Finals was a big one. He made a lot of blunders in that series. And in 2023, he fell flat against Miami. So, he has a history of blowing it at the biggest moments. That's why a lot of people don't have him in the same tier as Luka and Jokic.
And Ant is new. He isn't being held to the same standard as Tatum because he hasn't entered his prime yet. But that's nothing new. Tatum was also given a pass when he was younger. At the time, when he lost to GS, he was criticized just as much as Ant is now being criticized. But a lot of those critiques were followed by, "But he's young. This is all part of the growing pains that every superstar goes through." Now, in 3 years, if Ant keeps making the same blunders in the postseason, then he will 100% be criticized as much as Tatum.
Tatum is a great player. But the reason Boston is so heavily favored to win the title isn't because Tatum is so great. They're heavily favored because that team is loaded. Tatum is usually the best player on the team. But they are fully capable of winning the title, even if he isn't spectacular.

This shit is so crazy to me... hearing Chris Broussard putting Ant and Ja Morant ahead of Tatum...? Brother how early did you start drinking? I swear if JT was on ANY OTHER TEAM he wouldn't be worried about being a good teammate and actually making late playoff runs looking for a title, he could just be the 50 pt scorer that never makes it past the first round that everyone wants him to be. I love a guy like Luka, who might just be the best player in the league, but it's so insane to me how different the level of pressure he faces in a "small market" team like Dallas vs Boston. Until this year, people were perfectly satisfied if he crashed out in the 1st round as long as he's putting up big numbers.
Then I think back to Tatum's rookie year, where all of the "best players" on Boston were injured, but somehow all these young guys stepped up and ended up in the ECF. So then, instead of being looked at as a team decimated by injuries with a few young guys who overachieved and could be big name players in the future, the narrative got switched right away to the Celtics being a superteam. Even though all their best players were just young dudes who got drafted. I know Boston is the most hated team in the league by opposing fanbases but it's crazy that all the hate ends up on JT because of that.

Kyrie already had 1 on curry with Lebron they get
Another 1 the year KD tore Achilles making it 2 on curry.
They beat the heat in bubble & lakers in the bubble title giving him 1 on LBJ.
They beat the warriors again up 2-1 Kyrie takes over. The year Celtics made it on their own. Thats THREE ON CURRY
Then beat phenix & Denver. 1 on joker & book.
Now going for 1 vs Luka. Or say Denver again. Wolves. Whatever dosent matter this year.
Thats 6 rings. Going for # 7 this year & talking bout most outstanding player ever. Plus Tatum and brown carrying him after. They gonna get 3 at least. Kyrie coulda retired with 9-10 rings.
