A few months ago I rescued a couple of these (but they are the African ones). They were in a really awful abusive situation. Way too small of a cage, no toys. Their wings were clipped horribly and far too short, and one had a broken beak. I was so heartbroken for them. They would shake really badly if I got anywhere near them and would scramble to escape if they felt threatened, breaking their feathers in the process. They are about the age now of this sweetie in the video and starting to babble and trying to make words. Despite having toys since I got them, they have just now began to play. I'm so excited to see what they will do next. They live alongside parakeets and cockatiels. One big happy family. One of the ringnecks and my albino parakeet are buddies, they share apple pieces everyday.
They love listening to voices of other ringnecks in youtube videos.
I didn't plan on adding ringnecks to the family but I'm so glad they are here now. I need to find some basic editing tools for videos and make a channel for my birds too :-)

It's just amazing to watch and to listen to these genuine, sweet creatures! The Divine created these creatures who are full of unconditional love, and to see that love being expressed through their wild calls and mimicking the human voice is genuinely heartwarming! They need to be extremely protected and loved for their veracity to pick up on our language. I dearly love their big souls inside the body of such small, colorful and beautiful Birds! They just crack me up!!!

blue eagle why because people told you it was a girl but didn’t inform you males sexually mature at different ages and the ring appears at different ages typically anywhere from 1-4 years of age 😊

When have taught our little parakeet to poo in her cage. She is free to fly around the house (she stays in the rooms that we are in).. But every once in awhile I step on wet poo. Icky!
JKL I don't allow free flight in my house.
JKL also no the ceiling fan is not a problem my birds are clipped and can only fly down to land safely they cannot gain height. Clipping can be done safely and avoids the birds from gaining height.

I swear alexandrian parakeets/Indian ringnecks have the sweetest souls. They have the potential to do serious damage but never hurt anyone. I mean my girl can break LEGO without trouble and LEGO is damn near indestructible. The only time she’s bit me is over defending her cage and even that was a quick bite and release not hurting me much at all. I love them so very much! By the way I believe both your birds in the video are female.

Gabriel is likely Gabriela! Only Male ring necks have black ring around neck! Gabriel is still young so faint ring may develop at about 6 months and beyond! The green one Bob is older and also F.
No, both birds have been DNA-sexed and are male. Their owner has mentioned this several times. Typically the ring doesn't appear until maturity, which can be anything from one year to three. Given both her birds are young, there's no reason for them to show the ring yet. :)

my ringneck looks exactly the same, they are incredibly cute, but mine doesn't seem to like me very much and idk why, he is almost 3 months old and is being handfed since he was hatched pretty much, what should I do to make him more attached to me and more friendly?
Axel B777 indian ringnecks are naturally a more independent species of bird. They aren’t usually cuddly and affectionate like other birds say a conure or even a cockatoo. Keep socializing your bird and let your bird do what he or she is comfortable with. 😊

@@yesiiii2389 3 months they start to speak wobbling words but with practice improves. You have to give the bird 5 minz each day for it to learn different words and sentences.

I love indian ringnecks, but they are too loud for the small apartment i live in so i went with a green cheek conure. His version of learning to talk is whistling the cadence of a word or mumbling something. Could have swore i heard him mumbling "don't eat the paper" while playing on my bookcase.
Sara B we moved into a condo about a month ago and yes they are loud they aren't too loud. We are in about 800sqft they have their own bedroom as well now. We will post an updated house tour this weekend to show everyone. Congrats on your green cheek though they are also very intelligent! 😊 my mojo talks but due to his super raspy voice it can be hard to understand but he now mimics kisses as well if you try and kiss his belly lol it's the cutest thing
Yeah I don't have that kind of space, so he stays in the living room with the budgies. He likes to mimic them as well :)

lilly littes Gabriel was $550. However that is the cheapest part about owning him. I spend roughly $200-$500 a year on vet care alone for him, monthly food bills, toys, cage, etc. Also the out time required to care for the species is minimum 6 hours daily.
lilly littes update we spent just under $16,000 on vet care in 2019 alone! They’re not cheap that doesn’t include food or anything else.

Oliver Walter my birds either go to our avian vet to be taken care of, go to my moms and we get a house sitter that and are watched there, or they stay with my friend who also has a bird who is my birds sibling.

Denzil Nyoni in this video he was 8 months as stated in the description but I did not teach my birds to talk and never have repeated words. If a bird wants to talk they will do so on their own. Birds say what they like not what you want them to say. Just like my African Grey he will say f**k you when I barely say it maybe a few times cause I play Xbox lol but I say I love you a bazillion times he almost never says it.

Denzil Nyoni there are two types of Indian ring neck
in india they are called sua and kira
sua ringneck speak alot they are generally big with dark colour
the kira don't speak they are slightly smaller with a dull colour
