Nice work! My mantra is: cardboard, mulch, soil and seed. I like getting cardboard from Aldi & pizza shops, as they don’t have tape

Gradens, Yes. Turf, no. I am shrinking my backyard one blade of grass at a time. Thank you for your channel

I inadvertently created a berm bed today from part of my front lawn and didn't realize that's what I was doing - did the same as you, ie used the edged lawn and turned upside down. Glad I did now, your video explained the benefits of doing it!

Thank you, Jay! I am a new subscriber from North Carolina. And a brand new gardener. I started my mulch bed a few weeks ago. I’m quite a bit older than you are, so it’s slow going…. I love your 2 videos on mulch gardens that I’ve watched so far…. I love your approach…. Every bit of it…. I think I’ll be watching each of them multiple times… so many good ideas…. Thanks so much for sharing with us! Keep up the good work!

This is how I do it as well, Jay. I use both newspaper and cardboard. Love a freshly mulched bed.

Love all the hard work you have done in front and back yards. Good job. I’m starting my sheet mulch soon in my dry hot front yard

I am planning to sheet mulch my front lawn which isn't too large and I like what you say at the end of this video about extending the bed all the time. I think this would be a great way for me to start small. I never thought about doing it that way. It is a bit of a prohect to do the entire yard all at once, but a nice berm farden is totally doable. Thanks for the ideas! Love your channel and your gardens! ❤

THANK YOU! So much for showing in detail bc I’ve been gardening for over 20 Yrs and it’s such a journey. A beautiful one but always more to learn and I too want less grass and more native gardens in my front yard as my back is well established. You’re gardens are incredibly beautiful!!! ❤🌼🐝🦋

Great job & looks good being raised up. My county here in GA moved the recycling bins a few years ago to who knows where so I can’t use newspapers anymore, which I prefer because you can layer it/size it easier around plants. Anyway, now I use cardboard because I can find it readily available at Dollar General stores.

I'm really enjoying your videos; thank you! I'm dealing with a yard filled with horrible grasses and weeds, many of which spread by rhizomes. Do you find that removing the sod and turning it upside down stops the rhizomes from spreading? I'd like to try it but I'm afraid that I'll end up with grass and weeds running rampant throughout my newly dug garden beds.
