OMG was for identity crisis. Newjeans were struggling about their identity as themselves vs identity fans want. Minji struggles to be a mom in a group, cat for Haerin, fairytale princess for Hyein, Iphone for Hani(all the word she says in the beginning make senses if you change the word Iphone to Idol), and Daniel is trying to put all the members together saying they are newjeans. But she also have problem of always stay positive and trying to smile(even with nothing on the screen).

They reacted to OMG too but mostly talked about when they filmed it. I don't think they ever really gave an explanation for the scenes in the videos though.

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. She got a crush on the guy maybe. I liked Anitra's theories they made sense. But also the loneliness fits too. Hmm. I liked Ditto when i heard it. It was the 1st song i liked by them. I liked OMG too. It was intense when i felt it was a mental health theme in the MV. So glad Carlos talks about it. They are very progressive to show this I feel. Minji is the eldest member and is very motherly towards the other members.... but i took it as minji psychosis was that she THOUGHT she was a doctor but wasnt.. much like dani THINKS shes an idol but actually isnt... in the beggining minji is even seen saying to the doctors 'no im not a patient' suggesting that she actally is.. There was an old michael keaton film called dream team about a group of mental patients.. michael keatons character thought he was doctor but was a patient.. but the fact he thought he was a doctor made him actually quite competent at looking after the other patients... i beleive this is whats happening here with minji.. The last scene with minji and the fan suggests to me the metaphor being that we are all crazy we all have our issues as fans and idols.. that wouldnt work if minji was really a doctor
An even darker theory is all 6 were involved in an accident and heesoo was the only survivor hence the cast... because the cast isnt really explained in the parasocial theory. It also explains iphone hanni calling her in ditto from the omg video.. almost like a call from beyond the grave. I know the parasocial/fan theory is the popular one but along with the cast and hanni calling from beyond the grave the video is very haunting and gives the vibes of newjeans being ghosts.. it also explains them being in the video at the end as it could well be filmed before they died... the parasocial theory cannot explain the ending of them being in the video UNLESS like earlier in the video she is just watching white noise again and imagaing the video of them.
The cast was about someone who was broken. It could be mental illness. She separated herself from others. She felt lonely. Then she found NewJeans as her only source of happiness. She didn't want to face the reality. The scene where NewJeans drew on Heesoo arm cast, showed that NewJeans really fill into her broken part.
OMG even broke the 4th wall. It was clearly the story of NewJeans. Of course, they didn't die
@@vulamnguyen9453 nah... i posted this a long time ago... my thoughts are completely different now after seeing the similar para-social themes in OMG and ETA its obvious to me the para-social theory is correct. I posted this when i first saw the video and was going by what other people had suggested but yes its clear to me know whats actually going on :)
