So.... At first my heart palpitations only came like once every six months for about a day! So on average I would have to deal with them for 2 whole days a year. All of a sudden in May 2017 I woke up on a Sunday morning to them. They pretty much didn't go away. No exaggeration... the palps were nearly 24/7 non-stop. No pain, no dizziness, or nothing so I wasn't worried about dying. Well, not really. I knew something OBVIOUSLY wasn't right. Don't get me wrong, I was totally freaked out. Almost as scared as I was the first time I felt a heart palpitation, which was at 15 years old. For some reason, and I still don't know why to this day, but the palps would actually stop for a couple of days. It's like my heart would get tired of constantly fluttering and needed a break. This went on for one year and two months until.... I decided to stop drinking sodas. I was probably drinking, on average, no less than 2 cans a day but usually up to 4. I wanted to try losing a little weight and thought I'd start with the sodas first. I NEVER thought those damn palpitations would ever go away! That year and 2 months was a nightmare. I did get used to them over time, though. BUT I really need to mention that the palpitations went away two weeks after I quit the sodas and I also started a new medication called Topamax 2 days after the palpitations went away. In my calendar I have it marked that my palpitations quit after two weeks, but it's actually a guess because for some reason I kept forgetting to mark it down and when I finally remembered I just wrote, "palps went away sometime this or last week". So I could be off by a whole week. What I'm getting at is, what if the medication I started is the reason the palpitations stopped?! I genuinely believe it was the sodas, though. Just thinking about this as I'm writing. I just always assumed it was the sodas since caffeine is a trigger for palpitations. Anyways, just wanted to let people know what happened to me and how I possibly got mine to stop! Good luck!

Update nr.2: when you don't drink enough water, it causes your blood to become thick. You're heart then has to work harder to pump your'e blood through your veins...and thus causes palpitations...and hypertension. I discovered this while I was dieting. I woke up in the middle of the night, because my heart was beating so fast. I knew I didn't eat anything bad. These palpitations were actually worse than when I had eaten to much. I felt like I was going to faint. Later on I experienced tingeling sensations in my hands and feet. And I know that meant that there was a problem with my blood circulation. So that's how I knew It has to do with the fact I didn't drink enough water.
I have an update: I started eating 1 or a half clove of garlic every other day and...wow the results are amazing in so many ways. It's not easy to eat raw garlic. It burns terribly, but you won't be sorry. Give it a try!
In my case it was weight. I started eating 2 very small portions a day. And I snack on fruits. Drink a lot of water. Ofcourse I also take magnesium, don't do alcohol, caffeine, not much salt, watch out for preservatives...and it works. Hallelujah!!!

I’ve been having them, they happen more often when I’m nervous, go see a cardiologist and see if they can diagnose her and maybe see a therapist she might have extreme anxiety

i get the same thing, i used to work at the hospital and i kept having heat palpitations over and at one point my arms got numb and face. i ended up thinking i had a stroke. they did a cat scan of my head and they said there was no stroke and it’s anxiety due to stress. i explained i’ve never had anxiety before, im only 18. how old is she may i ask. anxiety is a major issue with heart palpitations usually. when we get a patient that has heart palpitations it’s usually really bad anxiety and panic attacks. ask if she also has dissociation as well (which it’s a state of mind where you think you’re dreaming). i took lexapro and it messed me up more. then tried busprione. it worked like a charm but then i realized there’s no need to take it. aspirin is just a blood thinner so it’s not really helpful. you can try these things i did with anxiety. such as cold showers(REALLY COLD) i do this to trick my mind and body as if im going to take a normal warm shower and just shock my body, tea (chamomile w lavender), walks outside, remind here there’s nothing wrong with her it calms the heart knowing you’re fine, and tell her to watch movies as well.
