i am only 25 so i never had the pleasure of listening to his music when they where at there best in the 80's, i have just started to listen and buy most of his albums for about 5-6 months now and i have got to say the Associates are a Great Band i listen to all the great bands that are similar like joy division, the smiths, the cure and the associates are just as good, by the way i love this Song that you have uploaded.
Hi, it's on the BBC CD called "Associates - The Radio One Sessions Vol 2 1984-1985" released in 2003 by Strange Fruit - you can get it on Amazon just now for £11.99.
@timwilderspin It IS great for people to discover the genius of Billy and Alan. Alan isnae playing on this. Billy and Alan had parted three years before this Radio One Janis Long session track (9/85). Billy wrote this all by himself. Guitarist is Ian McIntosh. Howard Hughes on keys, Roberto Soave on bass and Moritz von Oswald bashing the skins. I've got another studio out-take of this song. Some bands would kill to have material like this. This was never even "properly" recorded and released.
It's good to have new young folk discover the genius of Billy and Alan.
