    As I slowly but surely enjoy my way through your videos I must confess that your mention of Noah planting a vineyard and getting drunk as a prompt for prayer made me grin. You are right though that using scripture this way is a very enjoyable way to spend time with the Lord, reading, talking, getting to know Him. I never look at a clock though. I find that with prayer, like with a good conversation with a friend, time doesn't matter. Thank you for sharing, I look forward to the next video.

    I just pray for myself first to prepare my heart before I come before the throne of God, then the body of christ the church and then my family and friends and enemies. Then a pray against Satan's wicked will and abominable deeds, and then I ask the Lord to lead my by his spirit on what to pray for!

    I’ve tried to pray the Psalms and it does extend the prayer for sure. I also like to read my Bible before praying which feeds the point you made. Excellent video. Thanks!

      @@PreachBetter Brother, I want to thank you for your good efforts in sharing the wisdom God has given you. I want to give you a couple of insights on prayer the Holy Spirit has shown me over the years. We at times come to our prayer closet with a 'laundry list' of needs and concerns for loved ones, neighbors,, national issues, world events, etc. that we set before our loving Father and leave it at that.
      But we forget that we are also His privileged servants coming to obtain our 'marching orders' for the day. As our Father waits patiently for us to come Him in prayer, we should develop that same patience in waiting on His Holy Spirit to fill us with the power to pray. But we have to ask for that patience.
      I envision myself in a side room to His throne room as I calm myself and focus, in my mind's eye, on where I am. I look about the room and see huge banners declaring the fruits of the Spirit to help me focus on His attributes. I start praising Him and ask the Father to fill me with His Spirit and to close off the world for this prayer time. I ask Him to give me the words He wants me to pray and I wait. And as I wait, I praise. I get distracted from time to time, and as ask for focus and beg Him to please help me continue in prayer. At times He tells me to be still and know that He is God.
      But I never leave His presence in prayer time without Him giving me focus on, and the words of prayers for the needs of the persecuted Church, those in prison for the Gospel, those who are there for sin; also, to prepare the preachers to preach flawlessly, to prepare the hearts that will hear...many and various eternal matters.
      I do pray for myself as well. I pray for more faith, to increase righteous desires in me, the desire to repent; for Him to humble me (that used to be a scary prayer for me until I started doing it and saw that our loving Father is so gentle and kind and merciful in disciplining us). I found that if we aren't willing to ask for Him to humble us, He will do it anyway (because that is part of becoming holy) and we aren't as prepared for it.
      Sometimes the prayer time will be shorter, but sometimes it is glorious for hours. There is a lot more going on than just taking care of our Christian duty in prayer, more than even being overwhelmed with the glory of His presence, but as time goes on, we develop a real Father and son relationship that Jesus spoke about us having with Him. He will never say to me, "I tell you the truth, I never knew you". He reveals Himself to me every time I spend time in prayer. Praise God!

    I don’t even know how people pray for 10 minutes. Idk what to say if I’m being honest, and I stutter a lot when I pray if I try to make my prayer longer

    • @PreachBetter
      @PreachBetter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Don’t be overly concerned about the length of prayers. The important thing is the faith and sincerity in the prayer. Better to be frequent in brief prayer than seldom in long prayer. We learn to pray in prayer. Be consistent and you will grow in this area.
