This is what the invaders themselves say in the conversations intercepted by the SSU.
‘We have no equipment. None at all... There is only one tank and that’s it. But you know how it is - it can’t shoot. The father tries to be ironic: ‘Here you are, a motorized rifle brigade: are you on bikes or on scooters?’ But the son is so distressed by the situation at the front and losses that he does not even react to the joke.

No need to hoist the whole tank, just switch the turrets. Russian tank turrets have a quick release mechanism with impressive spring action. I have seen videos on YT.

The tow cable disappeared through the opening in the fenced storage depot in 2005 and is now on a tow truck in St. Petersburg. The broken firing hammer can't be replaced because the part hasn't been made since 1998, when the second five year plan ceased production of obsolete parts to concentrate on on sexier newer models.

Unfortunately drinking to much vodka all the time impairs memory recall, so they won't remember how it is done.
I'm surprised that they didn't take the tank that can move to the tank that can shoot and swap parts to make a serviceable tank. I'm surprised that Russian tank crews aren't more proactive in scrounging parts. A tank crew without a tank is known as 'poorly trained infantry' and one thing that tank crews hate is the idea of walking everywhere you need to go. And using tank crews as infantry is an enormous waste because of the cost of training a tank crew. A US tank crew fires around $50k of ammunition each year. After several years the investment in a tank crewman can reach $250k. (Training costs - not payroll.) And this is money well spent because a tank with a well trained and experienced crew is ten times as effective as the same tank with a poorly trained crew.

In other words: the unit has lost
- the tools and/or experience needed to make 1 tank complete.
- the leadership (internal and higher echelons) needed to find/coordinate tools/experience from another unit.
The 2nd item is military malpractice.
Another thing that's missing is individual soldier motivation and initiative. The soldiers are not working out how to keep things running absent proper logistics. I have dealt with instances of US soldiers stealing parts in order to get their stuff working. (And I will sit here polishing my halo as I refuse to admit that I have done this sort of thing myself.)
