I'm not really sure about just calling the wood Pale Oak. It's fine, I guess, and it goes with the Dark Oak, but I'd have preferred it if they followed through with the inspiration and called it Pale Willow.
Yeah - really not a fan of the extent to which the game leans on oak and oak variants. I wish they'd put a different tree in regular swamps - willow would work well there - and add azalea wood to go with azalea leaves, as well as coming up with new names for the dark and pale oak variants.
@swampselkie It would be cool and kinda thematical(though maybe too specific) to name the new trees weeping willow(s). The hanging pale moss could also be some sort of branches of the tree itself ngl. The creeking looks cool already because asymmetrical but honestly it could use more variants, some maybe more overgrown(+sometimes shrooms on it too) a bit like the bogged is.
the new biome and mod are so so cool but it doesn’t seem like there’s any point besides the new wood. i love this but i wish there was a structure or something inside of it
@@JustSomePancake Actual willow tree would be amazing. My guess is they were like "We have Oak, Dark Oak, why not Pale Oak" and the trees need to be thick so the Creaking heart isn't fully exposed. They could've made them a bit more origianl tho, just saying.
As a horror fan I love things like The Warden and now The Creaking it's so awesome I love the sound design of it Mojang always nails the sound design, kind of reminds me of The Ritual how the Creature blends in with the Trees, I also love that you have to destroy its heart, that's going to be fun for making games, I'm working on a big game that's a mix of Zelda, Decked Out, and Speedrunning and this'll be perfect in the Forest Area The white wood is also a huge Win, I really need it in my City People in this community love to hate on them for anything and everything, but I don't think there's ever been a 'bad' update they always had something awesome some better than others but each addition is very much appreciated and loved
For everyone complaining about the pale garden being lacklustre, just remember that the update isn’t out yet, so there’s still a possibility that it could improve!
Literally all biomes are like that though when you're not looking for them, so I don't see your point here. Plus, its gonna be part of Dark Oak forests just like Mangroves were part of swamps, so it won't really make any biome more difficult to find.
Remember, this is the true first preview we’ve gotten of this update, Minecraft is telling us they really do take suggestions, just because the drop isn’t ideal right now doesn’t mean it won’t get better, I imagine it will be one of the coolest things in the game when the drop releases Steer clear for new changes to this biome and give the devs suggestions, because they are listening
I see so many people pissy about the fact that the pale wood looks like 'reskinned' dark oak forest and they never consider *why* it's like that. Mojang (usually) tries to stick to trees that can be cut down without placing more than 2 blocks to reach higher wood blocks. No one likes floating trees. Think of mangroves and that one big oak tree. Easily the *worst* trees to try and get wood from. Additionally, the dark oak forest already checked every box for the environment they wanted to create. Dense, claustrophobic forest where you can only catch glimpses of the sky, making it darker at night. They added the hanging moss to restrict even your horizontal view. This isn't lazy game design, this is good and practical game design. I will agree tho, some fog added at night would even farther enhance the atmosphere. This is the very base of a small update. Considering how much usually gets added from there, this looks so promising. I love how minecraft is using "it doesn't feel minecraft-y" intentionally to add to the out-of-place feeling. That fact that you can fully avoid this content is a *good* thing. When you have something that's intentionally alien to the game, you shouldn't have the casual player be forced to engage with it or miss out on content. I assume all the nature block items added here will end up in the wandering trader table anyway.
The wood and variants look absolutely gorgeous. And the creaking seems really interesting and unique. I love how they're adding new unique gameplay aspects
I legitimately can't wait until the Pale Garden is playable When the Dark Forest dropped, I thought it was going to be terrifying, so I made a Dark Forest-only world. It wasn't really. I'm going to make a Pale Garden-only world, and I'm going to scream (hopefully)
Although I love the new wood set, I am very at odds with adding basically a whole new set of gray blocks… again. Out of all the colours I could think of adding more to (purple, red, etc) gray was not in any way on that list. We don’t need more gray blocks. I’m still waiting on an End update, not a gray, bland biome. The new mob pleasantly surprised me, and I can see it used in so many scenarios. One of my favourite designs for a mob as of late, and I’m hoping this one will actually drop something. Not the update we wanted, but it does seem well thought out and very harmonious.
I can agree with you on most levels, only things I have to say are make Creakings much stronger so they could 2HKO you unless you have full netherite/diamond armor with prot IV. And never enough white, gray and black blocks for me so I'm happy with blocks adden through last updated but it's true other colors need some love, purple especialy
A loud segment of the MC community are just miserable people. Y’all can not be pleased and you feed on insufferable negativity. I recently started playing No Mans Sky, aka: Minecraft in space. Both games are essentially shallow gameplay wise- all sandboxes are- with the burden of creating fun being placed on the player. The two Reddit communities could not be more different when it comes to vibes.
I remember using a tool to create a mod for minecraft like 10 years ago, you could use this software to create a mod to add new tools, i made 3 new tools in 10 minutes, the recipe / how powerful they were / i could even add new ores and specify in wich level they would spawn and how many would spawn... this software was from 10 years ago, im pretty sure you have even BETTER software nowadays, you can create this update in 20 minutes without any experiency in modding, its just a new biome with new trees (literally textures) and a mob.
Smaller updates are fine, but there should be big updates also. Maybe 2-3 smaller drops through the year, and a bigger one maybe every 2 year. We need a End update (elevation, new trees/plants, strongholds? Then the next year maybe smaller updates adding ambient sounds (birds, rocks falling in mountains and inside caves, fish jumping in the water), then a bigger one again. We also do need a food update, are we gonna eat steak and pork chops with some golden carrot side dish for the next 10 years? We could also through brewing or other crafting, get a recipe that makes any food top tier, or specialized. Add any food with a new herb to make it have the same hunger and saturation as current pork chop, if you want to eat potatoes you can and it is just as good as pork chops. How about specialized food. We have golden apples with super regen, how about diamond infused apples for 10-15 minutes increased mining speed (insta mine deepslate with eff. 5 and haste). Iron infused apples to ignore all knockback. Lapis infused apples for higher experience gain.
My issue is there is nothing that the Creaking is guarding/explains their existence and is worth venturing for. The biome just feels empty. I'd add some weird mushroom to make the biome even more unique, uncanny, & worthwhile. It could be brewed into a potion that desaturated your vision but gave you some powerful interdimensional powers. Maybe some combination of floating/phasing/further reach effect for builders as a replacement for the crab?
Seems like a step in the right direction but whats the point? Its an interesting idea, but after you find them once and they have lost the wow factor there is nothing to do with them. Some new wood colors, and some plants, and the heart that summons a mob that does ... nothing? It feels like a really cool theme, but the gameplay is half baked.
Just keep in mind people. Things are subject to change and this is a small update. I'm excited for how they can improve the pale garden (I am sure they will) and definitely want to challenge myself and live in that biome. It's gonna feel like playing Darkwood.
I really am looking forward to The Pale Garden and the Creaking. I feel like it's almost exactly like I predicted in your previous update/leak video. The pale oak isn't quite a dead tree as I thought, but essentially serves the same purpose, and the Creaking only moves when you're looking away, as I predicted. Didn't see the Creaking Heart concept, so that's neat, and I didn't expect the pale moss blocks, but those are incidental. More atmospheric. All the same, it's a very nice biome and mob. I think it's the first mob to actually be chained to a location too. It's restrained the 30 blocks from its heart. But, hey! Finally a use for a silk touch axe as well!
I literally asked Mojang a month ago to add in white fences lol I'm glad it's a possibility! But something bothers me.. There needs to be some sort of loot in the pale garden aside from the white wood. Either some new item or a hidden chest that will give mid/end level players an incentive to go there. Something like a Creaking/Pale Armor Trim Template would be cool! It could look like asymmetrical lines or twig like shapes. Or by using the Creaking Hearts, you could craft a weird heart canister for more hearts, since they would only be obtainable by Silk Touch. Something like the Totem of Undying, it would need to be held to give you extra hearts. They could add in a new item all together for the creaking to drop when it disappears during the day, like a "spooky twig" that could be using in a new potion recipe. The possibilities are endless lol
the creaking needs to be so much faster, being able to sprint jump away from them even while not looking at it really screws over the horror aspect of it.
They easily swarm and the only way to get rid of them requires you to break eyesight from them. Making them faster ruins that point. The mini game at the end of the after show perfectly showed this.
I feel like this was made to actually spook players somewhat since Halloween is here. We can thank those fake minecraft scary videos TH-camrs for this one. 😭 😭
I hope the biom will have reduced sight distance with a mist, together with grey particles floating around. Just grey blocks and sky doesn't seem eerie enough.
as someone who loves gothic buildings and just makeing creepy shit in minecraft, ive been waiting for this for so long!!! i hope they add more like.. horror ish stuff that isent just cave sounds, and i also love the "weeping angel" vibes!
This is a super cool concept, but not enough is in the pale garden to make it worthwhile to go there, so i think there'll be a special structure that'll spawn there as well
If you think about it 98% of everything mojang could come up with has already been made into a mod, and if you really want the end update so badly aren't there mods that improve the end?
I like features showed, new mob sounds very fun, only things I have to say are: 1 maybe make Creakings stronger so they could 2HKO you unless you have full netherite/diamond armor with prot IV for example. 2 Never enough white, gray and black blocks for me so I'm happy with blocks added through last updates but other colors need some love, purple especially 3 Intense fog at night in this biome so atmosphere would be more sinister 4 Maybe some small structure that would spawn every time in this biome, now hear me out: Grave - it would be small grave with statue and chest with some specific loot for it, so imagine someone walking into pale gardet looking for grave only to become scared of night approaching as he tries to leave with loot.
The first one ruins the main point of the mobs counter. They spawn on mass and the only way to get rid of them is to break eyesight with them constantly. Just watch the mini game at the end and you will see that they got low on health extremely often.
I guess I'm glad there finally going through with the bundels but I still wish they would listen to the community and have it part of an inventory update in the near future instead of a smaller biome/mob drop. I'm glad there switching to the multiple update system but I think my feelings on the creaking are that I'd rather have the end update and/or inventory update not new biome, new wood, new mob that been going on recently. Making a game is hard though so I won't be calling the devs lazy.
I'm not sure what you mean by that first sentence? Adding bundles sooner doesn't mean they won't ever add another feature that helps with inventory in the future.
@@chungo. ah sorry my brains mush from studying for a history test i meant that I would've rather had bundles and a inventory update than bundles being added with the pale garden. With no armor it does a single heart of damage. That's less than a zombie. Ridiculous. The mechanic is cool, but also stupid cause with even basic armor you can just ignore them.
@@kalebgray1050 My guess is they did that because like 10 of them could spawn at once and you can't kill them so it would be a bit too challenging to stare at 10 of them while looking for their hearts.
ello! i really wished that the pale garden had more things in it, because someone could just go to the edge of the biome to get wood, then leave. i think there should be a structure in the center or something else new
Well yeah but if you look at a bunch of other biomes, (like birch for example) you go to get the wood then leave. Idk why everyone is expecting there to be a huge new thing in the biome, why can’t it just be the biome?
Slight nitpick, but I think the Pale Garden could be called something like the Pale Forest or Pale grove instead, because it doesn't really invoke the feeling of a garden much. Perhaps there could be a structure called the Pale Gerden inside the biome that is actually a garden. Also, a pale cabin or house that spawns in the Pale Garden would be cool.
Red light Green light entity danger from most to least. Weeping Angel (Can mess with lights, also has other abilities even if some of them are dumb) SCP 173 (Slightly faster than an Angel, but much easier to deal with overall due to lack of other abilities and intellect) Coil Head (Blinking doesn’t let it move, needs to hit a target two time to kill) Specimen 6 (Can look away for split second before it moves, eventually moves behinds you even when looking at it, can be stopped though walls, needs to hit target three times to kill) Gold Watcher (Slower Movement, but the only one that can kill while being watched, Blinking doesn’t let it move, can be stopped though walls) The Creaking (Slower Movement, Blinking doesn’t let it move, needs to hit target a multitude of times to kill)
The mechanics of the creaking are really unique and interesting, I just hope they give the Pale Garden biome some more personality, currently it looks like they just retextured a dark oak biome. And would be nice if they added a few more unique mobs to the biome
Creaking sounds cool love the more horror coming hope they expand on it The combat method seems really backwards and doesn’t flow too well At this point they really need a better way to reach these biomes or shift like legitimately half of them off into another dimension (warden portal?) alongside many of the structures I think the content is decent and looking forward to, just think the setting of it (the world) needs some work Especially cool if more pale garden biomes spawn throughout October when generating a world or if it might slowly expand over time that month to other natural blocks Or some underground horror would be cool, ancient city just doesn’t cut it imo
The pale garden is nice, but that can't be the only thing in this update (unless mojang is actually changing the updates cycle). Like come on, all it has is a white variant of wood, a white variant of moss, a white variant of vines, and an Ent mob in minecraft

The creeking looks cool already because asymmetrical but honestly it could use more variants, some maybe more overgrown(+sometimes shrooms on it too) a bit like the bogged is.
pillow (pals + willow)
really looking forward to the new wood set :)
the new biome and mod are so so cool but it doesn’t seem like there’s any point besides the new wood. i love this but i wish there was a structure or something inside of it
I wish they made a new tree instead of re-coloring the Dark Oak though
what else are they gonna do most biomes have the same tree generation
It has different textures as well, so it is a new tree.
@@JustSomePancake Actual willow tree would be amazing.
My guess is they were like "We have Oak, Dark Oak, why not Pale Oak" and the trees need to be thick so the Creaking heart isn't fully exposed.
They could've made them a bit more origianl tho, just saying.
The pale garden looks great so far. It would be nice to see a new flower or fungus to give it some more variation.
As a horror fan I love things like The Warden and now The Creaking it's so awesome I love the sound design of it Mojang always nails the sound design, kind of reminds me of The Ritual how the Creature blends in with the Trees, I also love that you have to destroy its heart, that's going to be fun for making games, I'm working on a big game that's a mix of Zelda, Decked Out, and Speedrunning and this'll be perfect in the Forest Area
The white wood is also a huge Win, I really need it in my City
People in this community love to hate on them for anything and everything, but I don't think there's ever been a 'bad' update they always had something awesome some better than others but each addition is very much appreciated and loved
For everyone complaining about the pale garden being lacklustre, just remember that the update isn’t out yet, so there’s still a possibility that it could improve!
I'm excited for the new biome and wood and the new mob. It's so freaky, I hate and love the way it moves
7:30 Sorry to disappoint but they simply just played Pigstep, not a new disc(yet)
I am somewhat sad.
It's basically another "useless" biome to make finding the Biome you need even more difficult.
Literally all biomes are like that though when you're not looking for them, so I don't see your point here. Plus, its gonna be part of Dark Oak forests just like Mangroves were part of swamps, so it won't really make any biome more difficult to find.
What do you want from an update then?
I would love them to add a low fog during night in the Pale forest
Remember, this is the true first preview we’ve gotten of this update, Minecraft is telling us they really do take suggestions, just because the drop isn’t ideal right now doesn’t mean it won’t get better, I imagine it will be one of the coolest things in the game when the drop releases
Steer clear for new changes to this biome and give the devs suggestions, because they are listening
Was really hoping the pale planks would be gray >.
If we weren't getting white wood, I wouldn't have any excitement for Minecraft...
Pale garden needs more work. It should be much more lush and rich in flora for the name "garden"
Weeping angels confirmed (from Doctor Who)
Honestly pretty cool
So it just behaves like a Mario Bros' Boo.
I legitimately can't wait until the Pale Garden is playable
When the Dark Forest dropped, I thought it was going to be terrifying, so I made a Dark Forest-only world.
White wood is kinda neat. Means we can make light wood builds without Birch now.
Would be cool if the creaking dropped wood because then there'd be an easier automatic wood farm that doesn't rely on TNT duping.
The Wardens and Skulks have worthy opponents with The Creakings and Creaking Cores.
Pale Garden is pretty cool, but... we have enough grey coloured blocks... haha
the negativity from the community is so infuriating to me. Hate seeing people constantly calling mojang devs lazy
And the sheer love they gave us at the start of the show! It hurts so much to see the community whine like spoiled toddlers.
I know. We’re lucking minecraft even gets new updates for such an old game
same, ppl dont understand how things work. they are the ones that are lazy
Ikr. I'm cool with the people spitballing ideas to make it cooler, but those comments are just so insufferable.
A witty comment
your wit is fabulously humorous and made me giggle in ecstasy.
A wittier reply
I really like the look of the Pale Garden, gives a bit of a horror vibe and honestly I am all for it.
The pale garden and creeking mob feel modded and I am in love with it
I really hoped the pale garden was gonna be a new end biome
Same it should be in the End
We already had a end update now stop asking otherwise we won’t get new content for things that never got an update

@@Starix888 probably an update to I don’t know the 10’s of biomes that hasn’t been changed since the game’s release

Finally, light oak
So, basically we got Weeping Angels.

This is a super cool concept, but not enough is in the pale garden to make it worthwhile to go there, so i think there'll be a special structure that'll spawn there as well
basically minecraft horror mod made into an update bravo mojang this is exactly what we wanted
If you think about it 98% of everything mojang could come up with has already been made into a mod, and if you really want the end update so badly aren't there mods that improve the end?
This but unironically

Wow people really cant stop complaining
oh well im happy with the update so far-

The name “the Creaking” is such a stupid mob name

The stranger things update 🥰
Yesss dude white wood is such a huge dub
Jeez the vocal minecraft community are total whiners
Ig i were in a whining competition i would lose if my opponent is one of those fans
What the difference between whining and criticism?
I like features showed, new mob sounds very fun, only things I have to say are:
1 maybe make Creakings stronger so they could 2HKO you unless you have full netherite/diamond armor with prot IV for example.
2 Never enough white, gray and black blocks for me so I'm happy with blocks added through last updates but other colors need some love, purple especially
3 Intense fog at night in this biome so atmosphere would be more sinister
4 Maybe some small structure that would spawn every time in this biome, now hear me out: Grave - it would be small grave with statue and chest with some specific loot for it, so imagine someone walking into pale gardet looking for grave only to become scared of night approaching as he tries to leave with loot.
Yes it can still be added but I personally would prefer quality of life/inventory update right now over a new biome and mob.
@@historypeep0965 they arent being added together. bundles come soon in a drop that only has bundles and hardcore mode on bedrock, the pale garden is a different drop for later
The inventory problem is almost fixed, we just need a tool belt.
I'm never calling them game drops. They are updates.
Seems out of place for the overworld. Maybe if it was an island like the mooshroom biome.
End biome maybe?
They literally said that it’s meant to feel out of place
@@sboy2044 I get that, it just doesn’t fit the style of Minecraft if u get me, it feels more like an eerie desolate place, like the end, it would feel “out of place” to have a forest in the end, yet it would fit and work quite well, especially when the creaking has similar mechanics to the enderman where if you look at them they can’t move/get angry
@@AlfPalf I think if they took it a step further with the atmophere it could work, eg an abandoned spooky village struture in there (easy copy n paste with cobwebs) and some other "creaking" mobs like a spider variant or something then it could work but I agree that this would have fit the end or the nether better
i personally like that from the outside it looks like a dead version of a normal forest. definitely helps it meld well and feel like you entered a spooky part of a forest

I hated that almost all the comments in the livestream were all people just hating on everything. This mini-update is cool and adds many new features. I would like to assume there will be even more added to the Creaking before they get released. They just don't promise all those features now, since people would complain if they didn't do it.
Many 😂😂😂😂😂
@@catmixoprime example of what he was talking about right here.
Minecraft community try not to complain challenge.
I guess the blocks are maybe good not sure tho maybe its not white enough, but the mob is like another useless mob
@@average_youtube_commenterwell, I think that they mean there is no need to fight the new mob or even risk encountering it.
@@average_youtube_commenter brother, those biomes are peaceful and doesnt have exclusive mobs.. + they are real world inspired unlike this one
@@TheAngryMontage so?
Slight nitpick, but I think the Pale Garden could be called something like the Pale Forest or Pale grove instead, because it doesn't really invoke the feeling of a garden much. Perhaps there could be a structure called the Pale Gerden inside the biome that is actually a garden. Also, a pale cabin or house that spawns in the Pale Garden would be cool.
I do wish we get a creepy looking flower/mushroom to add more vibes to the biome.
They kept mentioning new ambience but just kept playing old nether music.
Honestly, this mob should do more damage, far far more damage. Would help incentivize not attacking it and remaining on guard as much as possible,
Red light Green light entity danger from most to least.
Weeping Angel (Can mess with lights, also has other abilities even if some of them are dumb)
SCP 173 (Slightly faster than an Angel, but much easier to deal with overall due to lack of other abilities and intellect)
Coil Head (Blinking doesn’t let it move, needs to hit a target two time to kill)
Specimen 6 (Can look away for split second before it moves, eventually moves behinds you even when looking at it, can be stopped though walls, needs to hit target three times to kill)
Gold Watcher (Slower Movement, but the only one that can kill while being watched, Blinking doesn’t let it move, can be stopped though walls)
The Creaking (Slower Movement, Blinking doesn’t let it move, needs to hit target a multitude of times to kill)
The mechanics of the creaking are really unique and interesting, I just hope they give the Pale Garden biome some more personality, currently it looks like they just retextured a dark oak biome.
And would be nice if they added a few more unique mobs to the biome
imagine if you could do something to a jukebox with something from the pale garden to play wonky versions of any of the music discs
I’m SUPER HAPPY about a weeping angel scp-173 type entity in Minecraft!!! This would be so good for map making!
Creaking sounds cool love the more horror coming hope they expand on it
The combat method seems really backwards and doesn’t flow too well
At this point they really need a better way to reach these biomes or shift like legitimately half of them off into another dimension (warden portal?) alongside many of the structures
I think the content is decent and looking forward to, just think the setting of it (the world) needs some work
Especially cool if more pale garden biomes spawn throughout October when generating a world or if it might slowly expand over time that month to other natural blocks
Or some underground horror would be cool, ancient city just doesn’t cut it imo
The pale garden is nice, but that can't be the only thing in this update (unless mojang is actually changing the updates cycle). Like come on, all it has is a white variant of wood, a white variant of moss, a white variant of vines, and an Ent mob in minecraft
think if they took it a step further with the atmophere it could work well, eg an abandoned spooky village struture in there (easy copy n paste with cobwebs) and some other "creaking" mobs like a spider variant or something
Ohhh im liking everything here!! The wood colour ia awesome now we also need black wood!!
I think this looks excellent, too bad it probably won't be out by Halloween. Kind of surprised that they don't consider an entire new biome as a full update now though.
This doesn’t feel like it was deserving to be Minecraft live, they didn’t tell us anything we didn’t know
The Pale Oak wood set alone makes it amazing. Now we need a black/dark gray wood like Hellbark from Biomes o' Plenty
Pretty sure it was shown that the Creaking doesn't do all that much damage even without armor. The mob really just seem weak and very easy to ignore by how slow it is too.
