Hey man i really enjoy your content. It teaches me a lot and also inspires me. I work in a Muralcompany in germany, But i want to build my own and go freelance, because i want more creative freedom and also want to get paid a bit better. I am studying motion design an illustration on the side to further broaden my horizon. Thanks a lot for your content :) It kinda gives me confidence to go the creative route.
Guten Tag!!! Best of luck. I would say that i see a lot of the street art scene going towards adding more tech in their murals so motion design combined with murals would work out really well.
Doodle grids are the GOAT 🐐, super simple and easy that any artist can use it! It has changed the game for me in terms of painting murals and keeeping the proportions correct as you scale up to a wall.
Really helpful video; thanks! Do you ever take another picture after you've put your proportions in to find they don't match the reference picture? If so, is there any tips you can share - I guess the position/angle where you take the new doodle grid photo would have to be almost identical to the initial photo taken? Don't know if this is a dangerous route to take another photo as it should be fine first time around - Thanks
Thanks! I do at times. I have retaken a photo in the midde to make sure the proportions are right but for the most part they have always been on point. you have to make sure the following pictures you take are front eh same angel and distance to its identical.
Thanks - helpful and interesting as always! Q: Is this the best method to use if painting a precise straight line design such as overlapping grids, letters, stripes, etc.? Or is old school measuring better? Thank you much. -Your work is phenomenal and inspiring!
If you are using a lot a straight lines then using a either is ok. Getting straight lines is more about the tools youre using to get the lines. so something like a chalk line works great with both methods.
Good question! It's just simple water. you can keep a squirt bottle with water with you when griding it out. this change in doing the grid helped out sooooooo much to keep my end result super clean.
