Oh... Perfect, I have iPod Touch, but I haven't really updated the music library since iTunes and all that fancy stuff makes it so frustating to use... Used Foobar2000 for years now, but never knew it can sync with iPod. Thanks Logan!
Another cool feature of the ipod manager is if you like to collect lossless files, you can have it auto-transcode files down to mp3 in whatever bitrate you want.
i use this programme its so good its all i ever use for audio files nch switch audio file converter I hope you many happy conversions Cheers . \m/ rock on
In my experience you can, but it's the reason why I switched to iTunes from Foobar. You have to manually select the files or playlist you want to sync each time, you can't do it using WiFi easily and it's too much of a bother for me to do honestly. Before I got my HTC One, I used Foobar and just synced it exactly like in the video.
Yeah. The plugin developer stopped making any updates like 4 years ago tho, so it is nigh impossible to make it work without knowing coding yourself (which I don't really...). I don't use my iPod much any more, as I got myself a Nokia 720 (love it so much too), so I don't have any issues with foobar any more :D
I'm having some trouble putting songs onto my ipod 3g. I got foobar2000 to recognize the ipod and read my library. However, when I try to send a song or album to the ipod from my computer library, it won't show up at all on the ipod, but only the ipod view tab. Any fix for this?
I'm curious to know if this works with the 7th Generation iPod classic, but at the same time I don't care enough to go through all this trouble when iTunes has already worked wonders for me.
What is superior about Foobar compared to say, Winamp? One issue with Winamp is, I like statistics on what songs I listen to, but I lose it all each time I reformat with no way to save it. I want to be sure I"m getting something awesome I can't get with Winamp if I change. Thanks!
Is there anyway you can customise the look of the default toolbar at the top, like the Seek bar, play controlls and stuff. Because it looks pretty wack at the moment :P
Your best bet is to invest in a good pair of headphones. I'm talking over 150 dollars. That'll make the need for EQ'ing mostly go away. Otherwise you could just spend time and tweak according to the flaws in your headphones/speaker system.
Do you really think those two are the only legal options to acquire music in a digital format in this day and age? Pro tip: click on the second link in the video's description.
How do i make it show my playlist on my ipod similar to itunes i want to be able to add new songs to my playlists but i cant seem to set it up correctly
It doesn't show all of my songs and I keep getting an error message saying "DB Version 5 requires iPhoneCalc.dll. Write operations are disabled." I don't know what to do. Please help.
I want to rewrite my database for my iPod 4g but it says I need "iPhoneCalc.dll" but when i go and download it from the home page of the iPod manger link, the file doesnt exsist
I tried this with 4th gen iPod Touch that has iOS 6 on it with no luck, the plugin simply doesn't recognize the iPod. Any ideas on how to still use my iPod with this? foobar2000 is just so much better than iTunes, but I still need to sync my iPod :/
I've been using this awesome software for about 3 to 4 years while WinAmp no longer whips its llama. One of the necessities for me to be even able to use most software that I do is that it's rendered in standard controls (or close enough equivalents that a screen reader can understand). For my being congenitally blind, (NVDA - NonVisual Desktop Access from HTTP://WWW.NVAccess.Org/ ) is a very necessary way to "see" my environment of Windows (in this case, 10). I have a fairly basic theme that just just restyles the list to show one or two additional columns, then adter the status bar is an indicator as to my playlist order (whether I'm random, repeating a track/the current playlist, or nothing at all. I haven't touched components yet just because there's a monstrocity of them to be tortured. I like messing with things in near realtime, so effect components (say, DSPEffect and XGEQ) are two perfect examples of just that. Peter Pawlowski knew what he was doing when he wrote this software (Oh, Wait, I can watch this video courtesy of a TH-cam component for FooBar as well)! This means I can find entire playlists of videos, tell FooBar to repeat the playlist proper, fall asleep and dream in peace knowing that FooBar won't disappoint me in the least. Thanks for covering this awesome media player. I really wish more people gave it an honest look. I didn't care for the album-styled playlists, so I just chose the Simple Playlist+Tabs layout which quietly purs for me. Something I'm not planning to see many other players. And as to the components, some of these are just insanity; Like a Convolver that will take an arbitrary sound and super-impose your live listening against it? This makes for fairly curious results. Say, if you had a really short snip of phone static, first make anote of where's it at then do the following: Go to HTTP://WWW.Foobar2000.org/ and tap on the Compnents link, Look for the DSP tag and tap that, too, Find the Convolver link and tap on that, Now tap the Download link for the Convolver component, install this as you would any other component feature for FooBar, Once installed and FooBar restarts, go to Preferences in FooBar and highlight the DSP tree branch, Two lists of DSP effects now appear, (but the Active DSP list is empty), in the Available DSP list, find and tap Convolver to add it to the Active DSP list, back over to the Active DSP list to tap on the Convolver to activate its configuration screen, Tap on the... button to locate the sound you wanted to use (in this case the telephone static), You can finally use the two sliders in here to change the volume and overall mix of the dry (live) sound vs. the wet (convolved) sound, as well as deciding whether to flatten out the wet sound with the dry sound (something I usually don't do because if you load in a sound with lots of low frequencies, the lower frequency spectrum then pverpowers the music/documentary you're listening to. And keystrokes? FooBar2000 was meant for keystrokes, especially global keystrokes that you can use regardless of where you are in the Windows environment! Sorry for the long post, but figured that a lot of sighties don't understand that with the right software, I can be just as dangerously beautiful as they are.
***** please do link or tell us a bit more.. if you're too lazy however try syncios, it works with music, books, images, apps, movies.. not customizable, but pretty enough
Depends on the app. For some you can just use folder options to copy to the folder.
Worked perfectly for me with an Ipod Nano ! (iTunes 10.5.2 (x64)) (0.6.9.6 of Ipod manager with version 1.3.8 of foobar.) Great tuto Logan !
Are you going to talk about output and WASAPI? Hands down the best thing i ever did with Foobar. The quality difference was amazing.

Thanks to these foobar2000 videos I have a better looking UI and can update my ipod without that blasted itunes.
you still use ipod?
Thx Logan and crew. Been using Winamp for almost a decade, looks like not anymore...
Looks like FOOBAR is back on the menu boys!
I hand crafted my iPod classic. 240gb ;)
i use this programme its so good its all i ever use for audio files
nch switch audio file converter
I hope you many happy conversions
Cheers . \m/ rock on
Cool to see Galneryus in there. I would never have heard of them if it wasn't for Mnemosyne.
Foobar is awesome I've switched over from Winamp thanks to these videos.
Logan, where do you get your wallpapers? I love the current one your using.
Okay, I'll need to check that out because I've been looking to ditch Itunes for a while now.

Thanks doode, made simply instructions that helped the issue I was having. Subscribed !

How about Rockboxing your Ipod? Then you can play FLACs (or other codecs not supported by Apple) via your Ipod and you can customize your UI.
It should say Pause/Break and it is toward the top right.
Would also love to know how to do this. Syncing to my Android phone would be great
How do you get the title/album heading like that with different font and color in foobar2000? Looks very clean and easy to scroll through!
I'm curious to know if this works with the 7th Generation iPod classic, but at the same time I don't care enough to go through all this trouble when iTunes has already worked wonders for me.
Logan, you have awesome impressions ;D
I really wonder where do you get all your music from? Is it all bought from iTunes or do you buy the CDs and then convert to MP3 or FLAC?
What is superior about Foobar compared to say, Winamp? One issue with Winamp is, I like statistics on what songs I listen to, but I lose it all each time I reformat with no way to save it. I want to be sure I"m getting something awesome I can't get with Winamp if I change. Thanks!

yep, that's why I like rockbox : )
I havent tried it but you might want to look into DeaDBeef.
what was the keyboard shortcut you did to snap the window to the left at the start of the video?
If I already have iTunes will this work by just adding the component in?
is tek syndicate using a windows theme? i like it
Clementine is a great, simpler alternative to foobar. Massively underrated.
foobar.
aside from obvious audio playback being better, the plugin/theme support blows winamp out of the water.

Foobar is the best media player
also take a look at musicbee and mediamonkey
Also I've just found a whole bunch of Skins, which look pretty handy :P

Logan if I'm remember right you use an IBM model M...
That doesn't have a windows (Super) key so what do you press?
I NEED THAT NEW ALBUM MAN
Yeah, that's a bummer. But doesn't it work with wine?
Have you tried using the latest versions of the iTunes components?
When is the new cheap console killer pc build coming?
Hey Logan, what is your wallpaper?
is that a model M he is using because it sounds a hell of a lot like it
That beer comes from Vermont, United States, brewed by The Alchemist.
Where's my dollar?
thanks for the tutorial
Does foobar sync the play count between your iPod and your local library?
Where is that background from? Or did he make that himself?
Sorry, i don't watch TekSyndicate a lot. I was simply interested because i heard the distinctive sound of the keys.
>champion of internet freedom
>uses Chrome
Also what is that desktop background?
Amazing, thanks!
foobar2000 rocks!! loving the lyrics! I just hope it would play videos, :(
Windows 7 users should download Windows 7 Shell integration component for the hover in taskbar interface

You can drag over music to the iPod on linux.

How do i make it show my playlist on my ipod similar to itunes i want to be able to add new songs to my playlists but i cant seem to set it up correctly
Or just use rockbox for an open source iPod nano :)
When I click on file there is no "iPod" option there. Did I do something wrong along the way?
is there anyway to key-bind a specific song to a specific key? if so how?
can you send playslists to ipod that was created from foobar?
What does foobar do exactly?
When I try to add music to my iPod it says I need "iPhoneCalc.dll" Where do I get this from? It's not on the website.
It doesn't show all of my songs and I keep getting an error message saying "DB Version 5 requires iPhoneCalc.dll. Write operations are disabled." I don't know what to do. Please help.
its just like iTunes just more complicated
Whats the game called they play in the beginning and the end?
I'd have it on my netbook were it not for this short coming T.T
Anyone knows the version of the Foobar's Ipod manager for Ipod Touch 5g! Please!
I want to rewrite my database for my iPod 4g but it says I need "iPhoneCalc.dll" but when i go and download it from the home page of the iPod manger link, the file doesnt exsist

Thank you VERY much Logan for the info about foobar2000. I have uninstalled iTunes. This loads quicker and does more. Done. :D
Yes, really.
Unfortunately for me... my iPhone 4 is compatible :(
don't be so furious, it's only youtube, not the forum -_-
Does work for an Android?
