I love you guys, my dream is to visit Ireland and meet the two of you. I've been vegan since 1975 when being vegan was looked down upon, thank you for lifting us up 👆. I'm your biggest fan.
I made this today for my daughters who have been plant-based (GF) Vegans since 2017. They loved it, so delicious. I bought your book- Happy Pear, Recipes for Happiness. I can't believe how simple this recipe was, Thanks so much from Los Angeles.
Been vegan since before University, so nearly 40 years. Used to teach how-to-easily-be-vegan classes years ago. Never have I ever seen such a colossal collection of awesome recipes.... you guys are the best. The absolute best! 💕
You will not be disappointed! I used 3 types of mushrooms, and my milk of choice is cashew and it was amazing! Dave and Steve recipes are always amazing. They are my go to when cooking for omnivores to demonstrate that WFPB can be incredible and not bland.
Made this last night. Delicious!! I did add some herbs to the sauce, rosemary, bay leaf (let it sit for a few minutes and removed), and oregano. Thank you so much for another great recipe
Made this for family (including meat eaters) and everyone loved it. Super tasty!! I used shortcrust pastry instead as I was more in the mood for that, but going to try puff pastry next time :)
This looks like an amazing puff pastry savoury bake - just what we need with autumn and winter coming up. I love the mushroom/leek/potato combo. Very tasty! Great channel 🙏
Where's the other "pear" these days? Looking forward to trying this with maybe a vegan pot pie crust and minus the mushrooms but it does look so satiating and comforting. Perfect timing for the turn of the seasons. Cheers!
Absolutely delicious & very filling. I made this for my vegan Christmas dinner, served with brusells sprouts. I made a quarter of the recipe amounts & still had enough for 2 servings. Wondering if it's safe to reheat twice, does anyone know?
I'm gonna be cooking this A LOT this autumn, thanks for sharing, friends! Can't wait to visit Ireland again and swing by one of your restaurants 😋Much love from Spain! 🙏🏽
Looks delicious! Going to cook that for my family next visit. My nephew is vegan, and I enjoy vegan and vegetarian dishes very much myself. I might add some firm tofu in the pan with the mushrooms. Not sure if I’ll mince, cube or crumble the tofu
You call it a pie but it isn't, is it? A pie would be the mushroom mixture encased in pastry. If I were to make this I would make it a proper pie. In which case, would you recommend part cooking the base pastry blind first before putting in the filling ?
I like the idea of this but am not vegetarian. Is there anything I should be aware of when cooking an actual vegan dish? I've never spoken to a vegan and worry about the pasty insipid look they tend to exude Will eating this effect me or should I try it under medical supervision? We live in the mountains
i dont get the "8 tablespoons of whatever." 4 tablespoons equals 1/4 cup. so 8 tablespoons equals 1/2 cup. WHY break it down into tablespoons when you can just say ONE HALF CUP? that store-bought puff pastry is just embarrassing. you're able to make your own puff-pastry, so give it a try. i think some self-help like fresh marjoram and other herbs would add subtle flavor.
It's a wee bit high in fat with the bechemel and pastry, but still nutritious with all the veg. Have it as a treat. I use a 'light' pastry as its lower fat.
@@Tom_Plumb_PHS I agree it is high in fat and you wouldn't want it for every meal but still would say the vegetables are healthy. I don't remember hearing anything claiming how nutritional it is anyway.

I think I will try that as well?
To add moisture with flavor it would really enhance the flavor if you added dry white wine instead of water or you could use dry vermouth.
I’m a Brit living in the USA 🇺🇸 and just received your book. So excited 🤘🏻
I'm not a vegan, I would make this recipe in a heartbeat. It looks very delicious and healthy.

Thank you very tasty
No tamari? What’s going on with the world! Ha ha. Looks great tho, chaps. Will definitely try this.
This looks sooo jummy, I think this might be this dish with which I break in my new kitchen! 🥰
This dish is perfect for the autumn weather 😊 will definitely have to give it a go (I have your book) 💚🌱 thanks for the video!
Too tasty savory meal
I love how he say 'paday-doe' 😅 love this channel 🍐great recipes
You can point it as long as you don't throw it 🤣
My dad used to make this a lot :) good times! Yours look great, thank you for sharing! I’m subscribed! 😀😋
I have cut up butternut squash in the fridge. I guess I could use that instead of sweet potato?
How did you not completely burn your mouth? Hahaha. Dish looks delicious, so gonna try this!
Wait, what, no Tamari?????
That's a bit strange 😉
Added it anyway, in case you forgot to mention it 🤣
pa-DAY-doh ❤
How much milk did you use?

Yes. :)
😋😋
Can I use wholemeal flour ?
How much milk?
Arghhh you didn’t say how much milk. Does anyone know?
recipe is on their website it says 800 ml
@@HisajiValo thanks

I can’t find the link to the recipe.😢
I didn't see it either after "recipe here": there was no link. I think a bit of thyme would be good too.
Proofread your written recipe! It says 8 "tsp" of flour. Urgh
still not sure if it is meant to be 8 teaspoons of flour or 8 tablespoons - I am guessing 8 teaspoons of flour to 8 tablespoons of oil
@@kathygore6615 the vid says 8 tablespoons. Amount of oil / butter = amount of flour in most creams sauces, I think.
@@marg5404 problem is the written recipe on their site says 8 teaspoons of flour - hence my confusion
For making a roux we use the same amount of oil and same amount of flour. He said eight tbs oil and eight tbs of flour. Have a good day.
'Most puff pastry are vegan🤔'? How? Where does the butter go then?
Where can I get a legit person that sells mushroom ?
👍🏻OIL FREE - Omit oil in the gravy & omit the pastry 🔝 for a healthy LOW-FAT version😊
And omit the oil when sauteing the vegetables too
Where’s the recipe monkey

Oh my gosh this guy’s body is sloping off screen right. And his name is Pichael.
This is entertainment not nutrition
Aye because everyone knows mushrooms, leeks, potatoes, garlic and sweet potatoes have no nutritional value.
