    Good to know it changes at 621. I wasn't all that sure. I sometimes go above the 7k rpm. Maybe 7500 max a couple times a ride. Im nervous about the break in I don't want to ruin anything. Can't wait for the higher rpms. I'm at 230

      I ended up doing the same thing….every now and then I’d turn some high RPM’s. I’ve had zero issues and I’m right at the 2000 mile mark now. I’d say just stay patient and enjoy the journey!

      @@thepessimisticoptimist9375 I think it was right around $300 or so. Based on my average riding mileage my next service will probably be in September….or if I get to 3750 miles first….not sure which one I’ll hit first but will probably be the September recommended service time.

    It looks like you've still got the bars in the low position, I think they come up 10mm higher so they're against the top triple clamp. Have you thought of doing that? I'd be interested in hearing your opinion on the difference. Cheers for the videos

    • @BassOnDrums
      @BassOnDrums  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct, I have not touched the bars…I have just left them the way they were set at the dealer. It’s comfy enough for me the way they are set. I’ll take a look when I get home today and see how far up they could come though.

    Really nice bike

  • @sunny7L
    @sunny7L ปีที่แล้ว +6

    FYI - quickshift is available on the US model, i have it, you just have to buy it and have the dealer program it. it's like $200. also the RPM adjuster was weird for me. even after my 600 mile break in when the menu opened up to change it, it still would blink at 6500. i turned it off for awhile because it was annoying me on track since i'm only shifting near red line, and i recently turned it back on again (1700 miles on the bike) and now it's working. so i set it up to blink for the first time at 10000 because the rev limiter kicks in at either 10500 or 11000.

    • @BassOnDrums
      @BassOnDrums  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Matt. I guess I could have clarified in my video that you can have things like the quick shifter and bluetooth added, just that the bike doesn’t come out of the crate with those options. That’s kinda weird that your tach did that…as soon as I hit 621 miles it defaulted to the 8500 shift light and 10000 warning flash or whatever it is. Thanks for sharing!

    • @RemboUSMC
      @RemboUSMC ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Matt. Did you get a price of $200 from the dealer for the quickshifter activation? That is not a bad price.

    • @sunny7L
      @sunny7L ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@RemboUSMC yes, that's correct. i believe i paid somewhere between $175 and $200 for the quickshifter activation. once it's activated you can find it in the settings area of the menu where you can turn it on or off. i think the price is standard, set by ktm, so you should be able to get a similar price from your dealer.

    Quick question.. is checking the valve clearance at the 600mile /1000km a part of the first service? Coz here in India, the dealership never checks the valve clearance ever. unless there's an issue.

    • @BassOnDrums
      @BassOnDrums  ปีที่แล้ว

      They will do the valves and everything on my 3rd service. For the first service they did an oil change and all fluids…checked over all hoses, clamps etc and made sure all bolts were properly torqued. They also did a diagnostic with the computer system to make sure all was good. I’ve got the service recorded somewhere…

    • @BassOnDrums

      I ride it daily…but only about 15 minutes each way. No issues. I’ve done the occasional 45 or so minute rides on it and I’ve had no issues then either. And I’m usually riding with a backpack full of computer gear, lunch etc. The times I get to ride w/o the backpack I feel like I could go forever. It’s such a fun bike to ride.

      I owned a R3, and rode a Ninja 400. Recently bought a RC390. RC has more power than R3, is lighter, has better (and adjustable) suspension, way better dash, more tech, and more sporty ergonomics. Ninja 400 suspension is ridiculously soft and absurdly underdamped. RC 390 is a nice bike.... it is the reliability, durability, and thought of dealing with KTM for any warranty claims is the only thing that would make me consider the other two. But like I said, I recently the RC 390, so...

    You somehow make this bike seem lame af despite how awesome the bike is

  • @4wheelsbitch
    @4wheelsbitch 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    So just to clarify, after 620 miles the bike changes without any input from me? I will be taking it in for the first service once I hit that as well. Also with the quick shift, isn't that shifting without the clutch? I've been doing that with mine at 100 miles.. should I stop?

    • @BassOnDrums
      @BassOnDrums  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Below 620 miles the tachometer will flash at you when you hit a certain RPM telling you when you should shift for the break in period. After you hit 621 miles it will change the rpm at which the tach flashes to a higher rpm. You can then go in the system and customize when you want it to flash at you for a shift notification and then a hard redline. A quick shifter shifts the bike without you physically doing it. There is a software on the bike that needs to be unlocked by the dealer. I have always been a motocross guy so I’m used to shifting without the clutch but on street bikes I have always used mine….I’d rather be safe than sorry and not put unnecessary strain on the gear box. But I’m not certain….maybe someone smarter than I will chime in.
