These are " the three layer days of Fall". You start and finish with all three layers on then after a few hours remove one layer then a few hours after that remove another layer. Then a few hours after that put on another layer etc...... I enjoyed an excellent ride with Tim last Thursday from Cuyahoga Falls to Belltower Brewing Co. in Kent Ohio and back again. Thanks again Tim.
100% The bags are needed this time of year! So glad we got to hang out - such a good day. I can't believe I only shot 3 clips - but that is also a sign of a good ride. Cheers!
Oh man, I got slapped in the face with the weather you guys had two days ago. Full headwind , leaves flailing. People freaking out about the fake northern lights. Fortunately, I left the house this morning in pretty much full winter layers, extra gloves even . This mysterious Argetinian frame I rescued is amazing, but I've been battling the dreaded french thread loosening syndrome . So another two hours clamping that down. Fingers crossed , I think I got it. This is an "art bike". I don't repaint except for touch ups , but this was actually fun, it's clear coated with expensive stuff they use on guitars . Got that for a dollar at a flea market. The paint scheme is all "Northern Lights". Italian fade. This is a wonderful time of year for me, but a lot of traumatic memories , mixed with hunting and fishing. And squirreling stuff away . I make sourdough bread with acorn flour , labor intensive as hell, but mind blowing . This is a banner year for acorns here. Scrambling to get more wild greens before too many frosts hit.
It’s just crazy to me how many wonderful paths you seem to have in spite of a relatively short season for non hardcore recreational rides. Meanwhile in much of the West and places like Florida year round riding but basically little to no infrastructure that supports making it relaxed and enjoyable! Always love your content thank you.
I do like the excitement of night off road trail riding and nobody being about. I like helmet torches. Mud can add extra dimensions but as long as not too sloppy. My joints do ache more though for some reason. My first bike was a Raleigh in the 70s, Grifter model. Which was like an early MTB with fat grippy off road tyres and gears, geom closer to BMX. I was so pleased to get that for Christmas.
Nice! I did almost go down real bad that night - we were going about 18 on a slight downhill and the rear went sideways in a rut - can’t believe how kept it upright. Everything feels so much faster after dark.
Enjoyed the rides and scenery, thanks Tim. Some industrial gravel towards the end. I’m looking forward to riding in the forest again when able, and enjoying some of the fall weather. Slow but steady recovery here in western NC from Helene and flood damage. Pisgah National Forest is closed, city, county and state parks are closed, and Blue Ridge Parkway is closed due to trees down, storm and flood damage. I truly appreciate all the help folks are providing for recovery here, local, state, federal, volunteers, and military. Hope to get out on the trails again sooner than later.
I’m not a city dweller but I have to say that your rides are nice and it seems the terrain you traverse are as changing as the seasons - look forward to next time - peace to you and yours
I love the elements no matter what they are. I adore all the seasons. I love long nights and long days. Summer-shorts, winter-coats, fall-sweatshirts, spring-jackets. It doesnt really matter to me. I might complain about how my body feels but never about the weather. All that being said I'm slightly impartial to riding through the mountains on a blazing hot summer day to swim in a crystal clear lake at high noon on any given day in late June early or early July. Nothing beats riding skimpy in the summer until 9:30 pm.
@@TimFitzwater Exactly. Oh...and I look forward to getting into the chats again. During summer I'm always out on the bike when you go live due to time zones. See ya'll in a few weeks!
thanks, man. been feelin' down about the shorter colder days, and this improved my mood dramatically. nice choices on the music here too, really fits the cooler vibe. time to charge up the lights!
Very much in agreement about loving the long days of summer, but I can't always enjoy lots of it since I'm neon white and burn too easily. I either have to slather on the sunblock, which I hate doing, or wait till later in the day when the UV rating isn't as high. Fall is the best because the sun is less burny for me and the weather is much more comfortable. Great views as always!
You are definitely like Dylan - he had to wear sunscreen in the woods the other week. I'm lucky that I don't have to deal with that as much. Thanks - cheers!
I needed this. I used to cross country ski every winter, but I have recently stopped enjoying that as much as I used to. These past few weeks I have just been dreading the snowfall. This inspired me to just enjoy the fall shift! Who knows, maybe I can find a way to bike this winter.
Awesome! I definitely had to teach myself to ride through the year - I did not used to do it. I started to miss it so much I converted my old Trek into a winter bike with some studded tires. Cheers!
I took my bike up to Helen, GA for Oktoberfest (October is for biking and schnitzel & 🍺) It was quite an experience as a "flat-lander" to ride at that elevation! Enjoying your video!
I knew this guy yes ago who recently returned from Iraq. It was summer and about 90 degrees, and he was out wearing a hoodie. After being acclimated to 110-120 degree temperatures 90 felt cool to him.
Oooooh. Amazing video! Awesome music! I really like this one. The music, the sound mix, the voice over, the visuals...! The song at 2:00 is perfect. I've been searching for a royalty free song with an Arcade Fire feel forever.
Yeah, youtube has too many "unboxing" reviews and they suck. "I've only had this pump for an hour but I love it, I'm looking forward to my first flat tire ..."
Would love to hear your thoughts on the things that have stood the test of time on the bike. Even if it is an edge purpose...when that purpose comes up you grab that specific thing vs the more general things. I'm in the land of QBP and bought the surly wool jersey because of your consistent endorsement.
Thanks for the updates of your rides and upcoming plans. If I understood correctly your plan is to hit different places on the East Coast, good idea. I'm surprised that the northern part of Ohio is still so green. I just got back from D&L Trail in Pennsylvania and it was already in fall colors, least in my view but locals said that I was there one week too early. It was colorful maybe because it was higher up. All the best to your upcoming trip. Great video enjoyed watching it, so relaxing. 👍
Yes - we will be hitting a spot on the way out, going to an event(Nutmeg NorEaster), then riding down Long Island to NYC. I thought that when I watched your Part One about the leaves - really surprising! Looking forward to putting on the second part after I'm done working tonight. I only rode a tiny bit of the D&L but I am going to keep it in mind for a trip next year. Thank - Cheers!
Great vid. Fall for me is also great time for cycling. Though I am pulling on and off layers as temps go up and down. 😃 Great soundtrack: love the Stock Music “no-need-for-a-royalty-payment” take on Arcade Fire’s Wake Up. 😂 Keep up the great stuff Tim
Ha! I always assume those "indie" tracks on Creator Music are takes on something - but a lot I don't recognize. I just make sure to have plenty of bag space for the layers going on and off this time of year. Thanks - Cheers!
I'm only a third of the way through the vid, and I also lament the loss of Summer, albeit there's no choice but to adapt, but I'm prone to defining loss, and 'assigning blame' (for what it's worth, anything to stop the wound from hurting more) and I find solace in defining Winter for avid Summer cyclists: "Winter is punishment for something you didn't do". And then there's the 'helpful type': "Oh, but you can ski"...from your front door to downtown? Errr...I think not. Even in my work sojourns in London, UK, I could take the train on my travelcard to the edge of the greenbelt (South Downs mostly) with my bike every other day, and if I bundled up, I could cycle through lovely back lanes and though not everything was green, enough was to 'feel' it growing, and talk to it when cycling past. I call that "civilized",
I hope we have the same mild winter here in Ohio this year as we did last year because I ended up riding a lot year round. But Ohio being what it is don't plan on another mild winter! 😆 Still super jealous you basically live on the OTET
Thanks! They are Salsa's - the CowChippers I believe? There are two "chippers" from Salsa with flairs at the drops and I can never remember which of the two they are.
I keep these videos running on my personal laptop as I'm working on my company supplied machine. Always love the music. How do you find it? Hoping there's a good number of local Akron bands represented here. Peace.
It is a mix. This video had all royalty-free music from TH-cam - indie knock off stuff. Other times I trade bands for songs or buy stuff from Bandcamp and the like. Its kind of a pain but its worth it. Cheers!
What's your friend with the aquamarine colored bike riding? That bike looks really cool. I know you guys are not really a gear channel per se, but I'd really like to know a little bit more about some of the bikes I see on your channel sometimes.
That is an older All City Gorilla Monsoon. Its great - he's been through a lot of iterations. We always talk about doing bike checks but then we just end up riding😂
My favorite headlight is the O-Light RN 1500. There should be a link to their website in the description - I've been running that thing for almost 3 years and I love the svelte look and the positive feeling buttons. Magic Shine has sent me a bunch of great taillights - the are linked below too. If you are going into a local shop they usually carry KnitRidders which are great choices long as you find the ones they switched to USB-C - I won't buy micro USB products anymore.

My wife and I rode the Ohio Erie Canal trail this past weekend.Stayed in Akron did 110 miles over the weekend and really enjoyed the trail
Nice! Did you stop in Dirty River and talk to Ben? (he told me someone doing OTET mentioned the channel).

We have always been lucky with the bike paths. I guess we also have a lot of abandoned infrastructure to make them out of....
Thanks - cheers!
Nice riding Tim, I love the urban assault types of rides you sometimes do, looks like you have an awesome group of riding friends!
I definitely do! Thanks!
Beautiful shots, music, composition and vibe. Thank you!

Been loving the fall season as a newer biker. I struggle to pay attention to the path with how beautiful it has been out color wise.

We are lucky to have a lot of bike paths and interesting cuts(unofficial bike paths if you will).
Cheers!

@@TimFitzwater Didn't mean to rant though. Polished the bike , had frozen Margheritas, a Cider or two so I got even.

Its wild. There is someone who comments in here that the 70s are too cool for them to ride. I think they are in Southern Florida.
Yes embrace it. Kinda like a big climb whereby one needs to embrace the forthcoming grooviness and zen.
Change is the only thing that remains consistent. I love it!
Discovered your channel a few weeks ago and am really enjoying it! Looking forward to your ny trip videos.
Thanks! Just got back and looking forward to the editing!
Rock on Tim... Western Canada Don ,,, yo yo yo 😊
The sunset at 10:33 does it for me.
☀️.😎
I like your life/bike philosophy. Cheers

Its funny a few people mentioned Arcade Fire - I don't listen to them - just knew I was getting a decent indie sound.
Tim, you do Northeast Ohiio proud! And represent the "normal" bike rider in such a pleasant way!
Thanks!😎
Well said 👍🏼
Always happy when one of your video notifications pops up.
Thanks Tim and Erin , very cool , as always! Mm , little B&E ? Vorsichtig !!
Nice, laid back video! Really enjoyed it! Thanks Tim!
Thank you - cheers!
loved seeing the changes in scenery but also changes of bikes too
More different bikes coming up too!
Also, I would love to see some long term reviews
Yeah, youtube has too many "unboxing" reviews and they suck. "I've only had this pump for an hour but I love it, I'm looking forward to my first flat tire ..."
Columbus here. Yesterday, I was sweating while mountain biking in a T shirt. Today....WTH?
Autumn in Ohio!!!
Eat all the schnitzel. Pass on all the schitzel.😀 Once again great music. You must spend as much time looking for the right song as you do filming.👍
Thanks!
Looking for good tunes is a pain for sure!
You really seem to enjoy life. I’m envious.
